The Economic and Financial crimes commission, EFCC has arrested the immediate past Gov of Anambra state, Mr Willie Obiano.
Obiano was apprehended at the Lagos International Airport, few hours after he handed over to the new Governor of the state, Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
He is believed to be on his way out of the country to the US when he was arrested by the anti-graft agency
The EFCC operatives will take Obiano into their custody
Obiano, who has been on the agency’s watchlist, was arrested at about 8.30pm, according to Channels TV
Details of the arrest are currently sketchy but unconfirmed sources claimed it connected to financial impropriety while in office.
