The latest information form Ohaneze Ndi Igbo is that it has not endorsed any candidate for any position in 2019 general election. Ohaneze made the statement through its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Chuks Ibegbu. The apex body of Ndi Igbo will endorse candidates that are serious with restructuring of Nigeria and returning the country to regionalism.
The candidate of National Conscience Party (NCP) for Anambra central senatorial election thanked Ohaneze and its leadership for sticking to its restructuring agenda. Mazi Obumneke Ejimnkeonye Okafor who is the NCP’s candidate also commended AlaIgbo Development Foundation (ADF) led by Prof Uzodinma Nwala for its new year’s communiqué which among many positions stated that Igbo nation wants self governance which can be achieved through regionalism.
After commendations, Mazi Obumneke Ejimnkeonye Okafor called on Ndi Igbo and citizens of all ethnic nationalities that are pro restructuring and regionalism to vote for only the candidates that are honest with restructuring of Nigeria and returning to regional government in this year’s general election. He stated that the only remedy for Nigeria’s numerous issues is regionalism and stressed that disaster looms if it is not done within a couple of years.
Furthermore, he called on voters to look beyond political parties when electing leaders because what matters most is having good leaders that will do wishes of the masses. According to him, most parties in Nigeria are not ideologically grounded, thus voting for parties instead of good candidates may worsen Nigeria’s current political, economic and security crises.
