The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party isn’t abating as five governors of the PDP boycotted the the campaign launch of their Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar held in Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom state capital.
The five governors are: Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.
Also, the national vice-chairman of the party in the South-South, Dan Orbih was conspicuously absent during the event that attracted all stakeholders of the party.
The Governors are demanding the removal of the party’s national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu in the spirit of equity, fairness and inclusion. Ayu has insisted that he’s going nowhere.
Recall that the Governors and their loyalists recently pulled out of the presidential campaign team of the party.
