President Bola Tinubu has appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu as the new Acting Inspector-General of Police, replacing Kayode Egbetokun who resigned citing family considerations.
Disu, a career police officer with over three decades of service, previously led the Intelligence Response Team and the Rapid Response Squad. He is expected to provide steady direction for the Nigeria Police Force amid current security challenges.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate, and President Tinubu has expressed confidence in Disu’s leadership capacity to strengthen national security and ensure the police force remains professional and accountable.
