The Masses of Nigeria are still slaves to NNPC and few economic and political cabals .Crude oil is so important to economic survival of indigenous people in Nigeria. It controls the general market prices , the exchange rate stability, cost of funds ,infact everything.
The management of crude oil business from independence to date is shrouded in utmost secrecy . Only few military, political and economic cabals have been presiding over the sharing of this important mineral resources.
This is why the quest for the control of the federal government super power has been exclusive reserve of these few cabals ever since civil war . That is why they are avoiding true federalism that will empower the owners of land to control their resources.
Yes ,we are happy that importation of fuel would stop with the commencement of Dangote refinery. Let us not rejoice yet . The market – monopolist ( Dangote) and the Government monopsony( single buyer) have no good intention for the masses of Nigeria . APC Government has no plan to improve the standard of living of ordinary Nigerians . Is NNPC a regulator or player in oil and gas business? It is just like having a referee to moderate the football match but the referee ended up joining the winning team ! There is state owned refinery that should be competing with dangote refinery , using the advantage of public fund to moderate the market prices of PMS.
Nigerians must insist that fuel be sold less than N150 per liter . This is our gift from God . Let no one be deceived by any economic jargon
Note that the recent increase in fuel price by NNPCL was economic sabotage designed to sustain the subsidy regime and deprive Nigerians the benefit of fair price from domestic production . They take us for fouls.
Dangote, a monopolist can save the people of this country if he wants, the same way Adenuga saved Nigeria from MTN and Airtel over priced charges for services and simcard. I bought my MTN sim card for N20,000 not knowing it will be crashed by Glo to almost free .
Nigeria is an active crime scene
Only sustained protest against these economic and political buccaneers will save the interest of common people.
