Trouble seems to be brewing in Anambra state ahead of the inauguration of Prof. Charles Soludo as the Governor of the state.
The Governor-elect will be sworn-in in March this year.
But reports from the state indicates that the outgoing Governor Willie Obiano is not happy with his successor.
Obiano’s anger stems from the constitution of the Governorship Transition Committee by Soludo.
A source at the Anambra State Government House told Symfoni in confidence that Governor Obiano was surprised to see the announcement in the media.
“The Governor felt slighted by the action. He feels the incoming Governor is already neglecting him even before taking office,” the source said.
The source added that a crucial meeting has been scheduled to hold on Monday in Awka, where the Governor has invited some government and party stakeholders.
According to him, “Governor Obiano said he was not consulted before the committee was constituted. There are also insinuations that Prof. Soludo plans to advertise the role of Commissioners for people to apply.
“All these actions are agitating the Governor.
The Governor-elect of Anambra state, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Thursday named an 80-man transition team. This is ahead of his inauguration as Governor of Anambra state in March 2022.
Dr (Mrs) Obiageli Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education, was named the Head of the Governorship Transition Committee from the Governor Willie Obiano administration.
The appointment of the 80-man list is contained in a statement by Mr Joe Anatune, Head of Soludo Media Office.
Those in the list are renowned economist Prof. Pat Utomi, Businessman and former governorship candidate in Abia state, Dr Alext Otti, Senior Lawyer, Olisah Apgbakogba (SAN), rights activist, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, political expert, Dr, Law Mefor and many others.

“The full Terms of Reference for the Committee as well as its mode of operation will be communicated during the inauguration/first plenary sessions scheduled for 19- 22nd January 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel, Anambra State,” the statement reads.
