“Come and be part of this gathering of faith, prayer and purpose …”

A 4-Day Annual Prayer Summit 2026, being the 6th edition of the global prayer gathering by the World Christian International Ecumenical Centre Worldwide, will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, 28th, and will end on Saturday 31st October, 2026.

The prayer summit in Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, will feature daily sessions running from 7am to 4pm at the Ecumenical Prayer Summit Ground, No 12 Rev. Dr. Ike Elias Ekwemmuor Street, behind INEC office, Aguleri.

According to a statement signed by the organizers of this year’s prayer summit, the event will be held under the theme: “Upholding God’s Purpose For Ndigbo”, and is aimed at bringing together Christians from different denominations and backgrounds for a period of intercession, unity and spiritual reflection on the future of Ndigbo and Nigeria at large.

During the summit, special intercessory prayers for permanent and sustainable peace among communities in the Omambala region, particularly Otuocha – Aguleri, Umueri and Umuoba Anam, will be made, as, according to the organizers, lasting peace and coexistence among the neighboring communities remain central to the progress and development of Anambra East and the Igbo nation.

Another major highlight of the 4-day gathering will be prayers for the nation, with particular focus on the peaceful and successful conduct of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.

The prayer sessions are also expected to cover broader issues of national unity, good governance and divine direction for the country.

Convener of the prayer summit, Rt. Rev. Amb. Elias Ike Ekwemmuor, alongside the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Professor (Pastor) Chukwuemeka Eze Onukaogu, the Director of Interfaith, Chief Engr. Sir Anselm Okafor (Onowu Abba), and the Coordinating Secretary, Rev. Humble Onyenwere, in the statement, called on Christians, traditional leaders, as well as people of goodwill to be part of the gathering.

“Come and be part of this gathering of faith, prayer and purpose for our LAND. God Bless You As You Come.”
