AWKA — The Anambra State Government has confirmed that four persons were killed when suspected gunmen attacked the convoy of the Governor’s Chief of Staff on Sunday night, May 31, 2026.
The ambush occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. along the Orumba North–Awka South boundary.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, says security agencies have launched a manhunt for the attackers, describing the incident as an assault on the peace and democratic order of the state.
