HURIDE Warns Prof Soludo To Be Civil

You Can’t Lock Down Onitsha, Environments, Mr. Governor – HURIDE

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has been urged to rescind his decision to lock down Onitsha and its environs from tomorrow April 1, to Monday April 4, 2022 .

The Human Rights, Liberty Access, and Peace Defenders Foundation (HURIDE), which made the appeal said it would be unnecessary economic waste for the State Government to shut down the entire Onitsha and its environs for four days just because they want to de-silt the drainage system and clear refuse in the areas.

In a notice posted in social media platforms, the Governor had given directive to carry out the activities in the four adjoining Local Governments of Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Idemili North and Ogbaru from 7 am to 6pm from April 1 to April 4, 2022.

Consequently, said the statement, which was not signed by anybody that Governor Soludo has approved a lockdown in the areas mentioned throughout the duration.

But HURIDE in a statement signed by the its Executive Director, Dede Uzor A Uzor said while the move was quite commendable given the enormous refuse littering the streets and roads, frowned at the idea of locking down the four local Government Areas for four days.

According to HURIDE, the decision the Governor has declared a state of emergency on the dirty environment of the State which is quite commendable but it should not limit or restrict the movement, business or social activities of the citizens.

HURIDE said the activities can go on along side with other social and economic activities, wondering why a Governor that wants an end to Sit-at-home would turn around to lockdown the State and such clearing of refuse can go on in the night.

They said such an order if allowed to hold negates the fundamental rights of freedom of movement of the citizens as well as to pursue their economic activities as enshrined our constitution.

The group also argued that it will trigger off huge economic losses in this difficult times of our country.

They urged the Governor to prevail on those involved in the exercise to go about their duties without interfering with citizens who are going about their normal businesses.

“That is the acceptable norm in every civilised society and our State is being ruled by a civilised man.The era of vodoo leadership is over in the State” said the group.

HURIDE however commended Prof Soludo for his efforts to redress the bad governance of his predecessor especially the flushing out of touts in Anambra State and his plan to make Okpoko habitable.

Ndigbo Can Rule Nigeria In 2023! How?

I love Igbos but I have to tell them the truth because I love them.

It is now a law to transmit votes electronically, that means rigging of elections has been reduced drastically.

Igbos are only tribe that have 99% of voters in the South East and second highest voters in other regions in Nigeria.

In the South West, after Yoruba votes, Igbo votes come second. Lagos has the highest number of voters in Nigeria and Igbos are competing with Yorubas in voting power in Lagos.

In the South South, we have indigenous Igbos in the South South and all the major cities in the South South are occupied by Igbos. Go to Port Harcourt you will understand what I mean.

In the North Central, go to Jos and all the state capital in the North Central, Igbos are the second largest population after the indigenous people.

In the North West, go to Kano and Kaduna and you will know that Igbos are the second largest population after indigenous people.

In the North East, go to Maiduguri and all the state capitals, Igbos are the second largest tribe after the indigenous people.

Go to federal capital territory Abuja, Igbos are the largest population in Abuja today.

If Igbos truly want to determine who will rule this country today, they will but they only sit back and lament without any action.

Go and get your PVC today!!!

Doyin Akupe Drops Presidential Ambition to support Peter Obi

Presidential Aspirant,  Dr. Doyin Okupe has on Wednesday announced his withdrawal from the 2023 presidential race.

Okupe made this known while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital where he also declared his support for former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Peter Obi.

The former aid to Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo said the reason behind his decision was to ensure equity, justice, and fairness between the Northern and Southern parts of the country.

Okupe said “I observed that the leadership of the PDP seems to be driving us all towards a fait accomplish. The most central consideration concerning the presidential primaries is the issue of zoning.

The matter has been referred to a committee of 37 members with a member each from every state of the federation and the FCT Abuja. One would have expected that the mandate of this committee would be such that it would discharge its duties and report to the NEC of the party within a maximum of 5-7 days. Sadly, this has not been so.

It is clear to me that those at the helm of affairs of the party are trying to hoodwink those of us aspirants from the South to commit ourselves to obtain the requisite forms before coming up with the original position that ‘every zone can contest the presidency.

“This position is politically fraudulent, unjust and inequitable. As a politician, I have come to accept the ill-defined zoning arrangement, and still forge ahead with my unrepentant call for a rotation of power to the South”.

He added that his position was in line with the position of the Afenifere, which he stated that right from the time of the late Premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the yoruba nation have always stood for honour, integrity, truth and justice irrespective of the situation.

The former Deputy Leader of IPOB, Mazi Uche Mefor has pointed fingers on the group who he accuses of organizing atrocious activities in Igboland.

“When I told you, Indigenous People of Biafra under Nnamdi Kanu (IPONK) that your atrocities, NEMESIS will catch up with you, who lie, blackmail, threaten and actually carry out and perpetrate all manner of human rights violations including targeted assassinations/extra-judicial murders, torture, enforced disappearances and inhumane and degrading treatments against your own people and in Igboland, this is just the beginning.”

“Look at how you are shamelessly and unconscionably denying the atrocities you committed in broad daylight.”

“I have told you, for turning your weapons against Biafrans especially the Igbos, and spilling their blood on the streets of Biafraland and especially in Igboland, you have wounded the spirits and desecrated the land. And as a consequence, you shall continue to disintegrate into useless criminal gangs and shall destroy yourselves by yourselves. You have completely dented the Biafra struggle beyond imagination with your criminality.”

It’s a sad evening for the fans of the Super Eagles as though the players put on a fierce battle, it however wasn’t enough to see them secure their place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

With over 60% possession held by the Super Eagles and over 14 shots with a few on target, this stats was not enough to give the Super Eagles the satisfaction they so craved at the start of the game.

The game ended with a draw, however, Ghana’s Black Stars take the win as the first leg of the game was goalless at the home of the Black Stars.

Breaking : Soludo Breaks Political Record

Gov Charles Soludo of Anambra state yesterday sent a list of twenty persons as commissioner designates to the State House of Assembly according to information available to our Reporter.

He also submitted fifteen more names as Special Advisers which was approved through voice vote by the lawmakers present.

Soludo had on the day of inauguration announced that the list of his commissioners would be made available to the legislature on or before one or two weeks after his swearing in.

The list which had one commissioner designate per local government area left Idemili North local government vacant and it is being canvassed that the position of Idemili North may have been vacant due to the appointment of Prof Solo Chukwulobelu who is the Secretary to the State Government SSG.

But there is no official statement on the absence of a commissioner designate for the local government area.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Uche Okafor, who announced the names during plenary while reading a letter from Gov. Charles Soludo dated March 28 said the Governor also sent another letter requesting the confirmation of 15 Special Adviser nominees.

The Speaker, however, asked the House Committee on Screening to screen the commissioner-nominees.

The majority leader moved a motion for the confirmation of the 15 special advisers and they were approved after a voice-vote.

Some of the Commissioner nominees were Mr Ifeatu Chinedu, Prof. Ofonze Amucheazi, Mr Ifeanyi Okoma, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Dr Afam Obidike, Mr Patrick Aghamba, Mrs Ifeyinwa Obinabo, Dr Obinna Ugonnadi, Mr Julius Chukwuemeka and Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh

Also at plenary, the House read a resolution urging Gov. Soludo to appeal to the Commissioner of Police to return checkpoints and patrol teams across the state.

The House resolution followed a motion raised by Mr Onyebuchi Offor, representing Ekwusigo Constituency, (PDP).

According to Offor, the absence of the checkpoints has increased insecurity which is causing serious threat to lives and property in the state.

What The Sit-At-Home Does To The South East.

Not only does sit-at-home kills businesses in the South East, but it also diminishes the impulse for foreign and diaspora investments into the South East.

After the Jews “reclaimed” the land of Israel from the Palestinians in 1948, they needed investments, especially from their fellow Jews living abroad, to help build up the country. Due to a sense of patriotism and loyalty to their kindred, the Jews living in Europe and North America began remitting huge amounts of money to help elevate their new land. Notwithstanding, even United States and the British politically and financially supported the development of New Israel.

But dishearteningly, the Israeli’s celebration and development was cut short by the violence and threats of their neighbours. The United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iraq, and Iran were not particularly pleased with the ousting of Palestine by the Israelis. Though, it’s still a contentious who truly owns the land of Israel, Israel had suffered setbacks from foreign investments due to fear and tension created by its neighbours.

Foreign investors and various multinationals were always sceptical about investing in Israel, even if Israel had the manpower or resources, due to palpable fear of their neighbours. Israel had to prove to investors that its military was up to the task to quell any foreign aggression, and for several years they have successfully proven to the world, that they can defend their land, without even suffering a scratch.

What IPOB and these unknown gunmen have done in the South East is quite similar. Only that it is within the confines of the same sub-national territory. It’s not that a neighbour is attacking another neighbour, it is a brother attacking his brother. This has done serious damage to our international repute to handle investments – because direct foreign investments don’t like a society that’s heightened by fear and tension.

It’ll be better for the leaders in South East to speak up against this anomaly, galvanising the same youths to eradicate such menace.

If you destroy your economy, you’ve destroyed Biafra. Learn from history.
