Tension has reportedly gripped Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area following an attack on the New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretariat in Ikpoba-Okha, just a few minutes ago.
According to preliminary reports, suspected political thugs, allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC), attacked the party’s secretariat and reportedly went as far as setting the building on fire.
As of the time of this report, no casualties have been reported.
However, the full extent of the damage to the building, office equipment, documents, and other properties remains unknown as events continue to unfold.
The incident raises serious concerns about the safety of politica party offices, the protection of lives and property, and the need to maintain peace and political tolerance in Edo State.
While the allegations surrounding the identities and affiliations of the suspected attackers have yet to be independently verified, the appropriate security agencies are expected to investigate the incident, establish the facts, and bring anyone found responsible to justice.
