Plans to Rig 2023 Election Exposed by Labor Party

The Labour Party has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against succumbing to plans by parties to truncate the 2023 elections.

ANAMBRAPEOPLE reports that the Chief Spokesman for Peter Obi and Ahmad Datti presidential campaign council of the Labour Party, Yunusa Tanko, said the plan to truncate the 2023 elections is by those that know they do not have chances of winning in a free and fair contest.

Tanko said the constant attacks on INEC offices are aimed at the losing parties to truncate the election plan of INEC to give room for their rigging plans.

Recall that the electoral umpire, INEC, had on Monday raised alarm that the attacks on its staff and offices have the tendency of disrupting the 2023 election.

Reacting to the statement from INEC, Yunusa said, “We know that there are centrifugal forces who are against the state, especially those who know they cannot win elections. They are trying to make the country ungovernable so that it will be impossible for us to have free and fair elections.”

The Labour Party, Obi/Datti campaign spokesman, however, appealed to INEC not to succumb to the plans, threats and attacks by agents of opposition parties who stand no chance of winning the next election in a free and fair contest.

“Our strong warning to INEC is that it must not succumb to all these threats and attacks. It is actually targeted towards weakening their resolve to organise a free, fair and credible election in 2023.”

Yunusa added that the security agencies must double up their surveillance to arrest the arsonists.

“Also, it is high time that our security operatives explained to Nigerians how this incessant arson and destruction of INEC offices continue unabated. We expect that given previous attacks, all INEC offices should have been fortified in order to provide an enabling environment for election officers and the materials.

“It is important that our security officers should double up efforts in ensuring that INEC is given the opportunity to conduct the election while those behind the attacks are apprehended and dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land,” he said.

Labour Party further appealed to Nigerians not to yield to fears from those who do not want them to come out to elect their leaders in next month election.

“To Nigerians, we appeal to them not to yield to fears by those who do not want them to come out and vote for the leaders of their choice. If this trend continues, we will have a state of anarchy and a free and fair election may not be possible.

“We will hold the security agencies responsible for their failure to secure and protect the Nigerian state,” Yunusa Tanko

How Bandits Released Kidnapped Persons After Identifying Them As Obidients

Details of how terror bandits released a group of people they abducted after they were identified as Obidients – supporters of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, have emerged.

Obi’s running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, disclosed this yesterday, while addressing Labour Party presidential campaign rally held at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Anambra State.

“The very day we’re inaugurated, we’ll stopped killing and start healing. Recently, bandits released their abductees simply because they identified themselves as Obidients,” Datti told the mammoth crowd that attended the rally.

Though, he did not disclose when the incident happened and the identity of the beneficiaries.

Datti told the crowd that he decided to work with Obi because of his belief in justice, equality and fairness.

He asked Nigerians to hold them responsible if they fail to deliver in their promises, insisting that the February 25 election was good as won.

Datti said, “The joy and fun I’m having here has made me forget the cost of foodstuffs in the market, and forget they’re stealing our money.

“APC is being deceived by your money in their pockets, and PDP who forgets easily is being deceived by the small money in their pockets they want to spend. This election is good as won.

“Peter Obi is a shining star who will move the country from consumption to production. With Obi and I under the Obidient movement, noting will stop us from rescuing Nigeria.”

Why We Started Good Governance Ministry (GGM)- Anaenugwu

The problem with our current political class is greedy and abnormal appetite for consumption and perhaps building an unsustainable consumption pattern.

I still blame our political leaders . Good Governance would have brought genuine people on the same political page to pursue ideological politics.

The northern and south western political leaders are using the advantages of civil war that ended in 1970 to exploit and enslave the victims of that war and sadly the entire Nigerian masses ended up being the victims. The political ,business and religious elites have amassed so much wealth for the generations of their children and grand children, hence the widening income inequalities that have threatened the corporate existence of Nigeria.

Everything is wrong with Nigeria system. The system is designed and structured to keep the working class in perpetual slavery and that is why the four refineries in Nigeria are not working. Dangote Refinery is funded by Government mercenaries and the operations will soon start with monopolistic power . This is unfortunate  !

GGM is supporting Peter Obi not because he is a saint but because he is better than other career politicians.Peter Obi messages have connected and resonated with millions of Nigerians that about 40 million voters who were never interested in the Nigeria electoral process are now excited and motivated to vote for Peter Obi and that will be the game changer we expect. Peter Obi may not be the expected solution but he is a stimulus to political revolution in Nigeria.

Obidient Movement has given so many people access to the political struggle . The awareness has been created and people eyes have been opened to know that political power belongs to the people . Good Governance Ministry is here to organize the people to pursue ideological politics even in absence of Obidient Movement. The Nigerian politicians could disappoint the people but GGM will always be there for the ordinary people.

We are on the part of history.

2023 Election May Be Cancelled – INEC

If the insecurity is not monitored and dealt with decisively, it could ultimately culminate in the cancellation and/or postponement of elections in sufficient constituencies to hinder the declaration of elections results and precipitate constitutional crisis. This must not be allowed to happen and shall not be allowed to happen”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned that if insecurity is not monitored and dealt with decisively, the 2023 general election might be serious canceled or postponed.

The chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu gave the warning at the Validation of Election Security Training Resources in Abuja on Monday.

Represented by the chairman, Board of Electoral Institute (BEI), Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, Yakubu advised that security personnel must be fully equipped to deal with any challenge.

“We all appreciate the fact that election security is vital to democratic consolidation through provision of enabling environment for the conduct of free, fair, credible and inclusive elections and thus strengthening the electoral process.

“Consequently, in preparations for the 2023 general elections, the commission is not leaving anything to chance in ensuring that intensive and extensive security is provided for election personnel, materials, and processes.

“This is particularly significant to the commission given the current security challenges in various parts of the country and the fact that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members constitute the core of the polling unit election officials.

“Moreover, if the insecurity is not monitored and dealt with decisively, it could ultimately culminate in the cancellation and/or postponement of elections in sufficient constituencies to hinder the declaration of elections results and precipitate constitutional crisis. This must not be allowed to happen and shall not be allowed to happen,” the INEC chairman said.

According to him, there is a new Electoral Legal Framework that will guide the 2023 election as a result of the enactment of the Electoral Act 2022 which prompted the review of the INEC Regulations and Guidelines for Conduct of Elections 2022.

“In particular, Sections 47(2), 60(1, 2 & 5), 62(1), 64(4a & 4b) and 64(5) of the Electoral Act 2022, which confers INEC with the power to use any technological device to transmit or transfer election results electronically are instructive in this regard.”

He added that the Commission introduced new innovative technologies and procedures and made commitments to the Nigeria people that (a) Continuous Verification, Accreditation and Voting will be conducted at the Polling Units using the Bimodal Verification and Accreditation System (BVAS) and (b) Real-Time Polling Unit-level results will be uploaded on to the INEC Results Viewing (IReV) Portal using the same BVAS.

He said these commitments require innovative security strategies and deployments for protection of voters, election personnel, materials, equipment, the electoral processes as well as the general public and infrastructure.

“These innovative systems and processes minimize human errors and delays in results collation and improve the accuracy, transparency, and credibility of the results collation process thereby ensuring credibility of the process They were tested during the Ekiti and Osun Governorship elections, held on June 18, 2022 and July 16, 2022, respectively.”

The INEC boss added that reports on the conduct of security operatives during the elections conducted by the commission specifically stand-alone governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states had shown progressive and commendable improvement in their disposition to electoral training and professionalism on election duties.

In his goodwill message, the country director, International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Seray Jah, said that the training of security personnel to be deployed for the poll is the antidote to peaceful elections.

“Managing security threats in the electioneering process is a tall order for INEC, which has the responsibility, together with Nigerian security agencies, of preventing, mitigating, and resolving electoral violence.

“To effectively do this, security personnel deployed during the elections would need adequate training on their roles and responsibilities during the election.

“The validation workshop with key stakeholders in elections security presents an opportunity to ratify the quality resources developed to train the security personnel as they prepare to deploy for the 2023 general elections,” Jay said.

Speaking earlier, Director General of the Electoral Institute, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris said that the validation exercise is in line with INEC’s practice to review training manuals and resources in line with the 2022 Guidelines and Regulations for the Conduct of Elections and the ICCES report on Election Security.

He also listed The Electoral Security Personnel (ESP) Training Manual, The Electoral Security Personnel (ESP) Training Facilitators Guide, The Electoral Security (ESP) Handbook, and The Basic Security in Election Duty (BaSED) Handbook, as the documents to be validated at the workshop.

Breaking: Obidient Movement Develops App To Monitor Election

To ensure that political power is returned to the people, Obidient Movement being driven by the people of Nigeria has launched an application that will make the ordinary people take control of their political destiny. The Application covers the entire country down to polling units.

With the Application,Peter Obi can easily win the election with his popularity on the social media as the application makes it easier to identify those who are really Obidient across Nigeria from polling unit level ,making it difficult for anybody to rig 2023 general election.

BVI Channel 1 online working with Good Governance Ministry encourages all the Obidient Fans to go to playstore and download – Townhall App by click on the link below https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naheretownhall.nahere

Insecurity May cause the Cancellation of 2023 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission has raised the alarm over the rising security situation across the country and its impact on the 2023 general elections.

The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, who spoke at the validation of election security training resources held in Abuja on Monday noted that the forthcoming election faces serious threat of cancellation should the insecurity across the country fail to improve.

Yakubu, represented by the Chairman, Board of Electoral Institute, Abdullahi Zuru, explained that “if the insecurity is not monitored and dealt with decisively, it could ultimately culminate in the cancellation and/or postponement of elections in sufficient constituencies to hinder declaration of election results and precipitate constitutional crisis.”

The commission, however, assured Nigerians that it would not leave anything to chance in ensuring that intensive and extensive security are provided for election personnel, materials and processes.

Mahmood said, “We all appreciate the fact that election security is vital to democratic consolidation through provision of enabling environment for the conduct of free, fair, credible and inclusive elections and thus strengthening the electoral process.

Consequently, in preparations for the 2023 general elections, the commission is not leaving anything to chance in ensuring that intensive and extensive security are provided for election personnel, materials and processes.

“This is particularly significant to the commission given the current insecurity challenges in various parts of the country and the fact that the National Youth Service Corps members constitute the core of the polling unit election officials.

This must not be allowed to happen and shall not be allowed to happen.

“Therefore, security personnel in particular and all election officials, in general, must be security conscious and alert to unusual activities in their environment and must be fully equipped to deal with any challenge at all times.”

Nigerian Army’s New Lopsided Postings Prone To Ethno-Religious Insecurity Ravaging Nigeria And Threaten Security, Safety, Popularity And Credibility Of The 2023 Polls-Intersociety

The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) is deeply dismayed by new postings announced by the authorities of the Nigerian Army. The authorities of the Nigerian Army and the Presidency have continued to collapse the High Command cadre of the Army in the hands of Northerners particularly members of the Northern Muslim population; thereby scornfully and magisterially treating the general and privileged populations of the country and the country’s civil and military spaces as if they permanently belong to “a homogenous theocratic Islamic State”. Intersociety is shocked at the Army’s latest lopsided postings involving Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders, Commandants of Army Training Institutions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding officers and so on; whereby out of 19 top officers and their postings mentioned, only three are Southern Christians while most of the remaining 16 are Northern Muslims.

It particularly saddens our heart that despite widespread public outcries in the East (South-East and South-South) against the flooding of the Region with senior Muslim officers and the high vulnerability of their crude soldiering in the Region to members of the defenseless civilian population and their properties, the authorities of the Nigerian Army have stopped at nothing by continuing to flood the Region with senior Northern Muslim officers. It is not only that no South-East officer from the rank of major general was among those in the new postings as a GOC, but another Northern Muslim Major General (Aminu S Chinade) has been posted to 82 Division, Enugu as GOC. Intersociety had recently investigated and found that all the not less than eight former GOCs of the 82 Division, Enugu between July 2015 and January 2023 are Muslims including seven Northern Muslims posted to the Division as GOCs in quick succession.

It was also found that more Northern Muslim officers are among those newly posted to the East. One of them is Brig General S Aliyu who was posted from Nigerian Army’s 6 Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt to 63 Brigade, Asaba as Commander. Other Muslim Brigade Commanders manning six out of the Eastern Region’s seven Army’s Brigade formations in South-East and South-South are Brig Gen Sani Suleiman, 34 Brigade Commander, Obinze, Brig Gen Adegoke Adetuyi, 14 Brigade Commander, Ohafia, Brig Gen Abubakar Wase, Brig Commander, 2 Brigade, Uyo, Brig Gen Danlami Ndahi, Brig Commander, 4 Brigade, Benin and Brig Gen Salidsu Yahaya, Brigade Commander, 16 Brigade, Yanagoa. It was also our finding that out of Nigerian Army’s seven Brigade formations in the East; five are commanded by Northern Muslim officers. Senior Northern Muslim officers also dominate the list of Army’s Divisions’ Principal Officers, Battalion, Artillery and Regiment Commanders and Commanding Officers in the South-East and South-South. Intersociety hereby demands for indigenization and allocation of posts of the GOCs of the 6 Division, Port Harcourt and the 82 Division, Enugu to senior Army officers from the East in line with Federal Character Act of 2004.

The Lopsided Postings Escalate Ethno-Religious Insecurity And Threaten 2023 Polls: The Nigerian Army’s new postings are not only ethno-religiously lopsided, but also escalate ethno-religious insecurity and insurgency by giving one ethno-religious group an upper hand over other ethno-religious groupings including unhindered access to state coercive instruments and their massive deployment against asymmetric others which further breed grounds for violent self help and emergence of motley of armed fighting parties. Such grossly lopsided postings in a country of multiethnic and religious composition or groupings will at all times breed ethnic and religious divisions, fears and suspicions and general feeling of insecurity and securitization exclusion or feeling of “security and safety without local contents”. Such postings and their lopsidedness less than 45 days to the all-important 25th Feb 2023 Presidential Poll also constitute a major threat to the critical poll and an indication of the Nigerian Government and the Military’s bent on anointing their preferred candidate as “the next president of Nigeria”.

Lopsided Postings An Impeachment Of Nigerian Constitution And Other Body Of Laws

The latest postings by the authorities of the Nigerian Army are unconstitutional, unlawful, dictatorial, vexatious, illegitimate and undemocratic. The postings were specifically done in total disregard to Section 217 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended. The Section clearly states as follows: “the composition of the officer corps and other ranks of the Armed Forces of the Federation shall reflect the federal character (geopolitical balancing) of Nigeria. The postings were also done in grave violation of Section 219 of the Constitution and principles of indigenous involvement or participation by members of the country’s ethnic nationalities in the activities of the armed forces including senior and junior officers’ promotions and postings.

Section 14 (3) of the 1999 Constitution was also observed in grave breach. By Section 14 (3): “the composition of the Government of the Federation or any of its agencies and conduct of its affairs shall be carried out in such a manner as to reflect the federal character (geopolitical balancing) of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity, and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few States or a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that Government or any of its agencies”. By Section 10 of the Constitution, observed in gross breach too: “The Government of the Federation shall not adopt any religion as State Religion”; and by Section 41: ‘discrimination of any form especially on the grounds of sex, ethnicity or place of birth in Nigeria and religion in conducting the affairs of the Government or any of its agencies including the Nigerian Army, is totally disallowed and prohibited’.

Details Of The Army’s Grossly Lopsided Postings: “Those affected in the redeployment include some Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders, Commandants of NA Training Institutions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding officers and several others. “Notable among the new General Officers’ Commanding (GOC) appointees are Major General I.S. Ali from Headquarters 3 Division to Theatre Command as the new Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East OPERATION HADIN KAI, Major General AB Ibrahim from Army Headquarters Department of Training to Headquarters 3 Division as the new GOC as well as Commander OPERATION SAFE HAVEN, Major General AS Chinade from Headquarters 2 Division to Headquarters 82 Division as GOC, while Major General GM Mutkut is to assume command as the GOC 8 Division and Commander Operation HADARIN DAJI (NW) from Army Headquarters Department of Policy and Plan.

“Those newly appointed Corps Commanders are Major General CG Musa from Theatre Command to Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre as the new Corps Commander, Major General MS Ahmed from Headquarters Theatre Command (NE) to Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps as Corps Commander, Major General BR Sinjen from Nigerian Army School of Artillery to Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery as the new Corps Commander and Major General PE Eromosele from National Defence College to Headquarters Nigerian Army Engineers. ”Others are Major General A. A. Ayannuga from Department of Army Transformation to Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command and Major General G.S. Abdullahi from Defence Space Administration to Nigerian Army Signals.

The statement added: “Among the new Defense and Army Headquarters Principal Staff Officers are Major General S.E Udounwa who is redeployed from Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programs to Defense Headquarters as Chief of Defense Training and Operations, Major General SG Mohammed redeployed from Army Headquarters Department of Policy and Plans to the Department of Army Training as Chief of Training, Major General UT Musa from Headquarters 82 Division to the Department of Army Administration as Director Personnel Management, Major General Y Yahaya from Headquarters 31 Artillery Brigade to Department of Army Administration as the Director Manpower (Army) among several others. Brigadier General TI Gusau is also redeployed from Army Headquarters Department of Special Services to the Directorate of Defence Information as the new Director. “The newly redeployed Brigade Commanders include Brigadier General AM Umar from the Office of the Chief of Army Staff to Headquarters Guards Brigade, Brigadier General S Aliyu from Headquarters 6 Division to Headquarters 63 Brigade, Brigadier General HD Bobbo from National Defence College to Headquarters 31 Brigade, Brigadier General MT Aminu from Army War College Nigeria to Headquarters 35 Brigade among several others. 2023: One Injured As APGA, PDP Supporters Clash In Anambra Festival

The people of Anambra Central Senatorial District have condemned the show of shame exhibited by supporters of Senator Uche Ekwunife, candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and her rival, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), fighting publicly at the Enugwu Ukwu Igu Aro festival ceremony in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

According to an eyewitness The recent altercation between supporters of 2023 Senatorial Candidate of APGA, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo and the Candidate of PDP for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, started when Dozie Nwankwo came earlier and waited to enter the arena for Igu Aro, while waiting, the organizers announced that no politician will be allowed into the main arena with political flags.
Dozie Nwankwo and his supporters agreed and waited patiently for them to be recognized.

While they were waiting, Uche Ekwunife and her supporters enter the main gate and matched to the arena with numerous PDP flags and umbrellas, they were probably oblivious of the standing order by the organisers who earlier warned that politicians will not be allowed to enter the arena with party flags.
In a quick reaction, Dozie Nwankwo supporters seeing that Uche Ekwunife and her people had gained entrance rose in anger and matched forward to the arena which made everything chaotic, the atmosphere was charged, which sparked up aggression that led to violence and open fight.
Speaking to our correspondent, elders of the zone said that, “singular act had disqualified Ekwunife and Dozie Nwankwo from representing the zone, describing the act as alu (sacrilege).”

Leader of the elders, Okeke Nwoye-Kwalu said, “From day one, we said these nouveau riche persons, especially Ekwunife will no longer represent the district.

”Ekwunife has become so proud and arrogant these days. See how she is insulting our leader, Peter Obi. She can’t smell the senate again. For Dozie Nwankwo, he is an eaglet to be our senator. He should go and wait and mature. Senate is not for boys.
“We have decided that Chief Victor Umeh (Ohamadike Ndigbo) will be the next senator for Anambra Central. He is mature, experienced and fearless. Besides, he has shown demonstrable commitment in the Peter Obi presidential project.

“You can’t see Umeh fight the way Ekwunife and Nwankwo did today (Saturday). That was the height of show of shame. Sacrilege. How can such persons represent us? We are not barbarians to elect such people.
“So, Umeh is the next senator for Anambra Central. Ekwunife, particularly should go and sit down; enough of her insults and arrogance. How can she be insulting Peter Obi that the whole Nigeria has respect for?
Although our reporters that later came could not independently ascertain if any life was lost, many persons were said to have injured in the process.
Chief Chika Nwana, Chairman Umuagwu village Enugwu-Ukwu, who also spoke with journalists about the fight between Uche Ekwunife and Dozie Nwankwo’s supporters, said no one ever expected that such would happen. Nwana noted that even though it is the season of political activities, that politicians should endeavour to accommodate themselves and avoid shedding blood.
Chief Nwana said someone sustained a very serious injury from the fight that erupted between supporters of both candidates. He said the young man’s head was broken in the course of the fracas.
He however advised politicians to tolerate one another as only one person will emerge winner in every contest.
On his part, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, His Royal Highness Igwe Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, said such was unbecoming of Sen. Uche Ekwunife while expressing his reservations and resentments over the display of political rascality at his 2023 Igu-Aro cultural festival.
Igwe Ekpe also deployed the Igu-Aro Enugwu-Ukwu cultural festival to campaign vigorously for Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour party. He said all should obtain their Permanent Voter Card and ensure that they cast their votes for Peter Obi irrespective of their political affiliations.
