Good Governance Ministry Is On A Rescue Mission- Anenugwu

GGM is the first political ministry in Nigeria . This is an ideological political movement . The vision bearers are men of stable characters with proven integrity.

The idea of GGM is to provide a platform that will organise the ordinary people to play regional politics. GGM has a short term ,medium and long term plans. In short term ,the Ministry will identify like -minded people and support them to occupy the office of the Governors and the President. These are two important offices in Nigeria. We played a significant role in the election of Prof Soludo. We are in consultation with other like-minded Gubernatorial Aspirants in other States . We are in consultation with Presidential Aspirants. The Ministry in the short term will sustain the political education through strategic partnership with revolutionary media – BVI Channel 1.

Because we are playing ideological politics against money politics , our historical and noble works have not started attracting funding ,so people don’t take us serious ,hence poor funding and low fellowership but ideas rule the world .

In the medium term plan, the ministry will partner like-minded individuals and organizations to deepen the concept of ideological politics in our region .GGM will be a known brand at this stage. With the public acceptance of GGM ideological drive, the political movement will metamorphose into a political party in the long run ,say 5 years .At this State,GGM will start fielding her members into political positions to start implementing GGM Vision and Mission Statements.

To support this initiative , Good Governance Multipurpose Cooperative Society has been registered and being operated to take care of economic needs of members . The President of the Cooperative is an economist with many years of Banking experience . The Cooperative will intermediate between the deficit and surplus sectors of the economy . One key factor working in favour of GGM group is Passion .

People join successful group and GGM will be a brand for today and future.

Less than two weeks after Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo inaugurated the State Executive Council, members of the cabinet alongside Permanent Secretaries are being hosted to a capacity building retreat to prepare them for the tasks ahead.

The retreat holding at the Anambra International Convention Center, Awka was organised for Commissioners, Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries to enable them key into the policy thrust of building a greater Anambra in line with the manifesto of the Soludo administration.

One of the major reasons for organizing the Capacity Building programme amongst others, is to foster and build team work and unity of purpose among administrators that will be taking decisions in the ministries, departments and agencies of government.

The retreat was also organized with the aim of equipping some of the cabinet members without public service background, with the rules and knowledge of public office.

The retreat is expected to end on Saturday.

Anambra Justice Commissioner To Partner With Police

The Anambra Government and the Police Command in the state on Wednesday agreed to strengthen synergy for speedy dispensation of justice.

The agreement was reached when Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Anambra, led top officials of the ministry on a courtesy visit to Mr Echeng Echeng, Commissioner of Police (CP) in Anambra.

Ifemeje said the visit was strategic in view of the critical role of the Police in administration of justice.

“We have come to visit the CP in Anambra to extend hands of fellowship to him, and find ways to partner with them on crime elimination and addressing insecurity to the barest minimum.

“We understand the role of Police in justice dispensation, and we discussed elaborately on virtual hearings and filtering of cases all in the bid to ensure speedy dispensation of justice in the state with minimal delay.

“Gov. Chukwuma Soludo is passionate about speedy justice, that is why we are here to ask for the cooperation of the Police,” she said.
The Attorney-General said the ministry on her watch would strive to implement and enforce the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law to ensure that victims of violence and defilement got justice in record time.

Ifemeje promised to make the Anambra Multi-Door Courthouse effective in view of its cost-effective and time saving benefits.

In his response, CP Echeng said the Police and Justice ministry were two sides of one coin, adding that when it mattered in justice administration, the command would provide every needed support.

Echeng called on men of the command to expeditiously investigate all pending cases, grant bail to suspects of bailable offenses, and charge the necessary ones to court for determination.

“The Police need the ministry of justice, and the ministry needs us in the speedy and effective dispensation of justice. We discussed extensively and my command assured the commissioner of full support.

“We shall give them 100 per cent support and do whatever we can do to help achieve speedy dispensation of justice.

“We don’t want our investigations to last more than necessary just as we don’t want to keep suspects more than necessary, unless those who are involved in crimes that police don’t have powers to bail,” he said.

Soludo Moves To Demolish About 200 Houses As Traders Lament

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, has maintained that the state government will go ahead to demolish about 200 houses marked for the exercise at Onitsha, the commercial city of the state.

We learnt that the state physical town planning board had earlier marked the houses for demolition for blocking the drainage systems in the Onitsha metropolis.

The state governor had recently embarked upon the clearing and desilting exercise in the Onitsha communities, to restore the glory of the metropolis.

Soludo, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, stated this on Wednesday, during a meeting with the affected landlords at the Onitsha South Secretariat, Onitsha.
Addressing the landlords on the need for them to start the gradual removal of the structures, the governor said the state government will adopt the carrot and stick approach.

He said, “You will see us in action if you disobey. The government will come hard on anyone who attempt to disturb the flow of work. We have all it takes to demolish the buildings, just dynamite and the buildings go in a few seconds. We are not coming for a second meeting again with you people.

“There are so many dump sites near residential buildings and water must find its course even if you try to stop it. We don’t want to use force to do it because we are people oriented.”

Also speaking, the transition committee chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Mr Emeka Asoanya, said that, “Some churches were built on the drainages and when you confront those who built them, they will boast that they own the government.

Asoanya, therefore, urged the state government not to look at whose ox is gored in the demolition exercise since the motive was for urban renewal.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Importers Association of Nigeria, Chief Gilbert Bravo, urged the state government to apply human face in handling the issue and pay compensation to those who have genuine Certificate of Occupancy.
“If you built on drainages there will not be compensation for you. I also want the government to fix the roads and clear the mountains of refuse that have sacked the area,” he added.

One of the buildings affected is the church of a popular pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly called Odumeje. The property is located on Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha.

Do We Have Master plan In Anambra State?- Anenugwu

If Anambra State has a city masterplan ,the reality on ground has shown that such master plan has been greatly distorted and abused by both Government officials and property developers . Instances abound where structures were erected in drainage channels ,thereby obstructing the free flow of flood . An average Igbo man cherishes land asset and would do everything possible to acquire one as one of the measures of manhood is the number of land asset One possesses . There is nothing wrong with acquiring Land but everything is wrong when such land is located in a danger zone .

Sadly ,Government Officials who are paid to protect public interest have in most cases taken to the pursuit of personal interest leading to a societal failure . The resultant effect of such Government failure could be seen in the damages caused by the rampaging flooding around all the cities in Anambra State. Ekwulobia, Nnewi,Ihiala, Onitsha ,Awka etc are not left out in this mad drive to acquire property anywhere no matter the cost.

In Onitsha ,several houses have been marked for demolition to open up flood channels . Prof Soludo Administration has promised smart mega cities in Anambra State . To have a smart city ,the master plan must be restored. It is no longer news that what happened in Abuja under El Rufai will soon happen in Anambra state if we desire to live in a sane and serene environment. Just few days ago ,a friend drew my attention to rampaging flood at Ngozi housing estate phase 11 where his house was almost taken over by flood after a heavy rainfall. Previously ,the same flooding has attempted to sack former Deputy Governor from his residence in Ngozika Housing Estate prompting the former Governor to award contract for the expansion of the water channel but unfortunately property developers could not stick to ethical standard in erecting residential building(s),hence the situation became worst .

It is obvious that certain difficult decisions must be taken to build a liveable Anambra State. Prof Soludo has a task that must be done without fear or favour.

BREAKING: Another Anambra Police Station Attacked By Gunmen

The onslaught against unknown gunmen in Anambra State is obviously being resisted as the criminals have attacked another police station, albeit, unsuccessfully.

The gunmen arrived the Ayamelum divisional police station Anaku, in the early hours of Wednesday but were resisted by the gallant men of the force.

The fierce resistance and return of fire forced the invaders to scamper for safety. In the process, they threw some of the inflammable substances they came with into the operation vehicles and other cars in the premises making them go up in flames.

About three vehicles were completely destroyed as a result of the fire but the building wasn’t affected.

When contacted, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu told our Reporter that it was a “failed attack as our men foiled the invasion.”

“The attack was successfully repelled by our officers. We didn’t record any casualties and our arms are intact and our men are in high spirit.

“As I speak to you now, operations are still ongoing in the area to arrest the hoodlums,” Ikenga said.

Anambra Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo had earlier warned that the state will be hot for hoodlums. He also set up a committee that will look into the agitations in the state and proffer solution.

Gunmen Attack Anambra Community, Abduct Five Persons

No fewer than five persons have been kidnapped when some unidentified gunmen attacked the Akpo community in Aguata Local Government Area at about 10 pm on Monday.

It was gathered that the five persons were returning from the traditional marriage ceremony of a cousin to the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Sly Ezeokenwa when they were picked at gunpoint.

An alert message by the commissioner, which was made available to journalists, stated that the victims were kidnapped around the Akpo community in Aguata LGA at about 10 pm on Monday and that no contact had been established with them or the kidnappers.

Ezeokenwa wrote, “The following friends of my cousin – Sampson Okafor, Chidozie Eze, Franklin Osuuagu, Chijioke Uduba, Benedict Ozoagwu – who visited for his traditional marriage yesterday (Monday) were kidnapped at gunpoint at about 10 pm last night in Udo Village, Akpo (Aguata LGA) along Akpo – Nkpologwu road about 300m to Akpo Junction. We are yet to establish any contact with the victims.”

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenganyia, confirmed the development.

He said the command had launched an operation to rescue the abducted persons, and that the commissioner had also been contacted over the claims.

“The command has already made contact to the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Sly Ezeonkenwa, and operation is currently ongoing for possible rescue of the victims,” he affirmed.

A LETTER OF DEMAND TO PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE

Dear Pastor Tunde Bakare

IGBO BOARD OF DEPUTIES VS MR. TUNDE BAKARE

HATE SPEECH, AND INCITEMENT OF GENOCIDE AGAINST THE IGBO PEOPLE OF NIGERIA

We act for Igbo Board of Deputies, a Non-Profit Company “NPC” and its Trustees for the time being “our clients” under whose instructions we address this letter to you.

We have waited reverently for Lent and Easter period to end before addressing this letter to you. It is our instruction not to join you in the desecration of a very sacred and holy Lenten season; it being the bedrock of the Christian faith all over the world. Your hate speech and your premeditated incitement designed for ethnic cleansing of the Igbo people in Nigeria was aired and viewed right at the heart of Lent. You are a pastor of a church indeed.

We have waited without success for you to, own your accord, recant your hate speech and/or withdraw the incitement of genocide against the Igbo people. It is very obvious that your speech on the day was well thought out, planned, and executed so as to achieve the purpose it was designed. These comments were made deliberately at a very fragile and tensed period in the history of Nigeria, when insecurity and killings are rife.

We are advised that on and about April 2022, you on the pulpit of Citadel Global Community Church in Lagos, Nigeria “your church” and before a multitude of congregants, worshippers, and viewers all of the world, made inciting comments against the Igbo people in the following manner: “on the day the late Tafawa Balewa was killed, the Igbo soldiers arrested him, removed his turban, poured wine on his head, and forced him to drink and shot him. While he was being killed, he cursed the Igbo race; that they would never govern Nigeria”

We are of the view that your comments on the day were calculated to rouse and stoke hatred against the Igbo by a region of the country. These were the sort of falsehood sold to other regions of Nigeria as part of the hate campaign that justified and resulted in the mass murder of Igbos and subsequent pogrom before, during and after the 1967 Nigeria-Biafra civil war that reportedly claimed over 3 million Igbo lives.

We are advised that your account of the 1966 military coup and in particular, the death of the then Prime Minister of Nigeria, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa is false because you were not present and therefore cannot qualify as a credible witness.

In the circumstance, we have been instructed to demand from you, as we hereby do, to recant your statements using the same pulpit within 7 days from the date hereof. Failing which, we have instructions to approach the appropriate forum, both local and international, for all available legal relief. These actions shall be at your account.

We hope the above does not become necessary, and we do not wish you to enter into this quagmire.

Kindly note that our clients shall enforce their rights and their resolve within the ambit of both domestic and international laws, unless and until you have publicly withdrawn your false comments.

The fact that we have not exhaustively dealt with this matter at present should not be construed as a waiver, omission and/or novation of our clients’ rights. All our clients’ rights are fully reserved.

We hope you find the above in order as we await your prompt reply.

We have attached hereto, the official letter of demand for your perusal

Yours faithfully

Dividing Nigeria Is Not The Solution- Rev. Fr. Oluoma

A priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Reverend Father Oluoma Chinenye John in a video on YouTube minutes ago, sent a message to those agitating for Biafra and Oduduwa Republic. The Reverend noted that conflicts are not caused by differences but conflicts are caused because it is human nature.

He therefore added that anyone who thinks the issues in Nigeria will stop if separation is allowed, then such person needs to think again because even those homogeneous tribes that are agitating have their own unresolved internal issues.

According to Rev. Fr. Oluoma from the video: “I know that we have issues in Nigeria but if you think that division is what will solve Nigeria’s problems, then you have to think again. You are probably thinking that conflicts in Nigeria are as a result of our differences. You are simply confusing correlationality with lcausality.

That things are correlated doesn’t mean that they are cursed. That an Igbo man is succeeding in business does not mean it is because of his Igbo nature. That a part is more developed than others does not mean the others are cursed.

Many people keep saying the whites are smarter than us in terms of development and inventions. Why? They sat down to learn the Art of Development & Invention. We need to put all these agitations aside and learn the Art of Governance & Development to grow our nation”.
