WHO IS BRUCE FEIN?

WHO IS BRUCE FEIN? – BRUCE IS AN AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL LAWYER WHO HAS DRAWN A BLUEPRINT FOR BIAFRA RESTORATION

Bruce Fein was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts—the epicenter of the American Revolution– on March 12, 1947.  William Henry Longfellow’s Midnight Ride of Paul Revere and Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Concord Hymn have been two of Mr. Fein’s moral, philosophical, and intellectual inspirations.

Mr. Fein delivered valedictorian addresses at his junior and senior high school graduation ceremonies.  He attended Swarthmore College (1965-67), and the University of California at Berkeley (1967-1969), and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in political science.  He attended Harvard Law School (1969-1972) where he began a series of annual reviews of the United States Supreme Court for the American Enterprise Institute, where he also served as an adjunct scholar.

After graduating with honors, Mr. Fein clerked for United States District Judge Frank A. Kaufman.  Sitting by designation on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Mr. Fein helped Judge Kaufman to author the first decision in more than a century holding the President of the United States subject to suit in National Treasury Workers Union v. Nixon.

Mr. Fein then served as special assistant to the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice.  Among other accomplishments, Mr. Fein drafted an authoritative monograph on impeachable high crimes and misdemeanors as the House Judiciary Committee commenced an impeachment investigation of President Richard M. Nixon.

Mr. Fein also served as assistant director for the Office of Policy and Planning, special assistant to the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, and Associate Deputy Attorney General under President Ronald Reagan.  In the latter position, Mr. Fein inaugurated a robust process to vet potential federal judicial nominees for interpretive philosophies consistent with the federal judicial role envisioned by the Constitution’s architects.

Mr. Fein was next appointed general counsel to the Federal Communications Commission under Chairman Mark Fowler at the time of Judge Harold Greene’s divestiture decree for AT&T.  Mr. Fein spearheaded the Commission’s repeal of the schoolmarm-like “Fairness Doctrine,” which gave birth to talk radio.

Mr. Fein was appointed Research Director for the House Republicans on the Joint Congressional Committee on Covert Arms Sales to Iran, and served as Visiting Fellow for Constitutional Studies at the Heritage Foundation.

In 1987, Mr. Fein began the private practice of law and commenced more than two decades of weekly law and foreign policy columns for The Washington Times.  He assisted then Congressman Bob Barr (R. Ga.) in drafting articles of impeachment against President William Jefferson Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice.

Mr. Fein then served on the American Bar Association’s Task Force on Presidential Signing Statements and represented Edward Snowden’s father over the Orwellian surveillance of American citizens by the National Security Agency (NSA). He also drafted the complaint for Senator Rand Paul’s class action suit against President Obama, challenging the constitutionality of the NSA’s telephony metadata collection program under section 215 of the Patriot Act.

Mr. Fein has testified before congressional committees on scores of occasions at the invitation of both Democrats and Republicans.  He regularly delivers lectures to visiting jurists from foreign countries under the auspices of the State Department.  His most recent books are Constitutional Peril:  The Life and Death Struggle for Our Constitution and Democracy, and American Empire Before The Fall.  Mr. Fein appears regularly on national and international television and radio and in the print media.

Mr. Fein is eternally grateful that he ceased growing taller at 5 feet, 9 inches.  That diminutive height wrote the epitaph to his adolescent ambition to play guard for the Boston Celtics with the likes of Bill Russell and Sam Jones.    He is astonished that a man of his intelligence ever could have been guilty of such foolishness.

Mr. Fein dedicated his book American Empire Before The Fall to Socrates, who preferred death to an unexamined life.  A pivotal guidepost in his life is the moral superiority of risking being the victim of injustice over risking complicity in injustice.

According to Mr. Fein, the purpose of government is to promote justice, i.e., the convergence of law and moral philosophy.

Mr. Fein does not watch television.  He does not watch movies or sports.  His leisure hours are devoted to reading Plutarch’s Lives and studying the architecture of power to thwart oppression, persecution, violence, and war.  The search for truth without ulterior motives is his summum bonum.

Mr. Fein maintains that due process is the most important concept in the history of civilization—the first recognition by man that “I could be wrong,” an acknowledgement that there are no facts, only interpretations, and an understanding that notice and a hearing are indispensable to human dignity.

At age 67, Mr. Fein is amazed that he survived the monumental stupidities of youth.  He is constantly alert to Abraham Lincoln’s adage that a man who does not grow wiser by the day is a fool.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Fein’s diversity of experience and scholarship enable a unique multi-dimensional appraisal of client problems.  In devising optimal solutions, Mr. Fein brings to bear judicial, legislative, executive, media, think tank, university, and international perspectives or opportunities.

His clerkship with a federal judge provided special insight into judicial thinking.

His service as associate deputy attorney general under President Reagan provided insight into federal law enforcement regarding criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, the environment, lands and natural resources, antitrust, immigration, the office of professional ethics, the office of legal counsel, the office of the Solicitor General, and United States Attorneys.

His service as general counsel of the Federal Communications Commission where he spearheaded repeal of the “Fairness Doctrine,” which fathered talk radio, provided special understanding of the legal landscape for the telecommunications, cable, satellite, and broadcasting industries.

Mr. Fein service as Research Director on the Joint Congressional Committee on Covert Arms Sales to Iran and professional associations with numerous members of Congress provided insights into the legislative process, the influence of partisanship in Congress, congressional oversight, and the intelligence community.

Mr. Fein’s service as an adjunct scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, Visiting Fellow for Constitutional Studies at the Heritage Foundation, and guest lecturer at the Brookings Institution provided knowledge of think tank operations and their methods of influence on public policy.

Writing as a weekly columnist for more than two decades for The Washington Times offered Mr. Fein knowledge of symbiotic interactions between the press and government and the strategies employed by each to advance their interests.

Serving as an adjunct professor at George Washington University, frequently lecturing at   universities, and establishing professional relations with a galaxy of university professors provided Mr. Fein an understanding of the influence of scholarship on public attitudes and public policy.

Mr. Fein’s panoramic experience and scholarship in the law enables him to discern narratives and connections among various areas of practice that would be missed by others less schooled.

With Bruce Fein in the saddle of Biafra case, It is good bye to Nigeria with the former East!!

BRUCE FEIN-A JEWISH-AMERICAN LAWYER ANNOUNCES BLUEPRINT FOR BIAFRA RESTORATION

FEINIs this true? If so, he must be extremely careful with those so called governors and politicians. They are all one Nigeria advocates. None of them can be trusted when it comes to Biafra. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANYTHING NIGERIA, BUT BIAFRA.

It is obvious that Nnamdi Kanu is under tremendous pressure from the undemocratic, and despotic government of Mr. Buhari. If he is still the person that I used to know, I do not have any doubt that he will maintain his ground. BIAFRA IS NON NEGOTIABLE. Bruce Fein and his partner have just returned from Enugu. He has given us a blueprint for Biafra.

The threat to re-arrest him, is just wishful thinking by Mr. Buhari and his incompetent government. Any attempt to rearrest him will be the beginning of the end for the Islamic Republic of Nigeria. Right now the UN has made it clear last week that the so called Arewa youths should be arrested for threatening the Igbos living in the northern part of Nigeria, despite their so called temporary withdrawal of such threat.

I am ashamed of the so called governors in both regions of Biafra. They are blinded by the pitiful allocation they are getting from Abuja. Ekiti state governor,Ayodele Fayose and Femi-Fani Kayode, two Yoruba men criticize the genocidal government of Buhari for massacring Igbos/Biafran. Unfortunately, the cowards calling themselves governors and politicians in Igboland/Biafra keep mute. This is one other reason Nnamdi Kanu must be careful dealing with any of them. Be yourself Nnamdi, nobody is going to rearrest you.

There are many organizations, groups and individuals fighting to restore Biafra. If any group or individual decides to cave in to pressure and quit, Biafra will still be restored. No person on the surface of this earth can stop the restoration of Biafra.

I would suggest that Nnamdi Kanu, through his lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor contact Bruce Fein, to understand what we are doing.
This is just a suggestion, he does not have to do so, if he is not interested. All we want is Biafra, it does not matter how it comes, or who leads the way. Bruce Fein has traveled this route before, and knows how to navigate the rough terrain.
We should all keep our egos on hold, and go for the gold and that is Biafra. May God continue to bless Biafra and those fighting for her freedom.

Sallah: Call IPOB, Biafra agitators to order, ACF tasks Igbo leaders, govs

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), on Wednesday, urged Igbo leaders as well as South East Governors to prevail on their kinsmen agitating for Biafran Republic to refrain from it.

The ACF also urged all Nigerians to, in the spirit of Sallah celebration,  avoid hate speeches and acts that were capable of jeopardiding the peaceful co-existence of people of the country.

This was contained in a Sallah message issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Muhammad Ibrahim Biu.

ACF said both Igbo leaders and south east governors should emulate their northern counterparts in ensuring that the call for separation of Nigeria by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was put a stop to.

The Forum noted that it was northern leaders that prevailed on Arewa youths to withdraw the quit notice earlier served Biafra agitators.

The message read: “In this regard, ACF particularly calls upon our respected Governors of the South Eastern States and Ndigbo leaders to emulate their Northern counterparts and prevail on the IPOB agitators to respect the sovereignty of Nigeria.

“We cannot allow our temporary challenges to redefine our collective destiny and set our agenda.

“We all have grievances, but they can best be addressed through dialogue and negotiation, not by violent agitations, threats and intimidation to lives and property.

“ACF also wish to appeal to our leaders at all levels of Government to be God’s fearing, just, sincere and responsible in discharging their duties, and also exhibit decorum and civility in words and deeds.

“We particularly appeal to our youths as leaders of tomorrow, to avail themselves to government empowerment facilities and engage in lawful productive ventures that will add value to themselves and the community, rather than be vanguard of destruction that comes with frustrations.

“We should make the most of our God-given diversity by working hard to overcome our challenges.

“Nigeria is in a trying period with so many challenges, economic, security, corruption and unemployment among others, hence the need to fervently pray for peace, stability, prosperity and avoid any act that will not be helpful.

“However, ACF have observed with concern the open disagreement among agencies of government over simple administrative issues that are capable of affecting unity of purpose with clear thought and morality. Nigeria cannot afford avoidable divided presidency, as it is not helpful to our democracy and development.

“ACF therefore appeals to the agencies concerned to guide against actions that can be sand bags on the path of efforts to deliver on the promise of democracy.

Buhari has lost touch with Nigeria’s economic realities – Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s latest comment that he was pleased with Nigeria’s economic situation as another pointer to the fact that the President has lost touch with the economic realities in the country.

Fayose said, “It is strange that a President will say that he is pleased with sufferings being experienced by his people.”

In a statement issued, on Thursday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was obvious that President Buhari’s close to three months stay in London had taken his mind off the reality of the economic crises being witnessed in the country.

Governor Fayose, who said economic growth of a nation can only be measured by the welfare of the people, asked; “How can a President who has spent more time abroad than he spent in Nigeria be telling Nigerians that he is satisfied with the sufferings of the people? It is like the President endorsing the sufferings of Nigerians and this is painful,” he said.

“That President Buhari, who met exchange rate at N197 to $1 said that he is pleased with the economy when exchange rate is now N370 to $1 is a clear indication that the government is being ran on his behalf.”

“The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in its unemployment report for the fourth quarter (Q4) 2016 said 3.67 million Nigerians became jobless in one year and that the number of unemployed Nigerians rose from 7.51 million at the beginning of October 2015 to 11.19 million at the end of September 2016.

“The same NBS, said in its June 2015 to May 2016 National Corruption Report, that over N400 billion was paid as bribes to public officials in Nigeria in one year (June 2015 – May 2016). Yet, they will tell Nigerians that they are fighting corruption when indeed, corruption is thriving under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of President Buhari.

“As at May 29, 2015 that Buhari became President, bag of rice was less than N8,000, a bag of rice is about N18,000 now, more than 25 states cannot pay workers salary regularly owing to dwindled revenue from the federation account, and someone is telling Nigerians that the economy is doing well? It is clear that the President has lost touch with real economic situation of the country,” Governor Fayose said further.

While insisting that the President was not telling Nigerians the truth on the economic situation of the country, Governor Fayose said, “Even a two year old child knows that there is hunger in the land, Nigerians are hungry, they are suffering and telling them that all is well is like adding salt to their injury.”

CG-IPOB SUPPORTS MOBIN

29/08/2017
PRESS STATEMENT
Customary Govt of IPOB wishes to confirm to the Public that the decision taken by MOBIN (Movement of Biafran in Nigeria) to terminate political relationship with UPP has the support of the Administrator-Engr Anthony Aniebue. Recall that CG-IPOB has announced three strategies to restore Biafra viz legal, diplomatic and political.
The legal front is being pursued through Bilie Human Rights representing the interest of Biafrans in federal high court ,Owerri while MOBIN represents Biafrans in Political front.MOBIN had gone into alliance with a registered Political Party in Nigeria-UPP  to implement the Biafran ideology of equity ,fairness and justice while still living in Nigeria .
CG-IPOB can confirm that the diplomatic team is opening new  windows of opportunities with the recent visit of the Deputy Chairman of Supreme Council of Elders of IPOB-Dr Dozie Ikedife to UN & US through ADF.
CG-IPOB has stood behind MOBIN throughout the period of building political structures for UPP and can authoritatively confirm that MOBIN fought with the spirit of Biafra to defend and protect the collective interest of Biafran people .For record purpose,UPP Leadership is not interested in the concept of Biafran ideology non the ideals of internal democracy but merely took a strategic business position to promote the interest of few people.
The public should note that we cannot compromise our ethical standard and ideological drive, hence CG-IPOB support for MOBIN’s withdrawal action and relocate to the drawing board for further actions.
It has become necessary to make this clarification as we have it in good authority that UPP is strongly counting  on the momentum created by MOBIN to campaign for her anointed Gubernatorial flagbearer, even when the party has no intention of implementing her manifesto of freedom and self determination for the Biafran people.
Thank you.

MOBIN, BIAFRANS WITHDRAW SUPPORT FOR UPP

-Press Statement of the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN)
The Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) wishes to inform the general public that it has withdrawn its support for the United Progressive Party (UPP).
Earlier this year, the UPP presented itself as the ideal political platform where Biafrans can get good governance in our struggle for freedom. On this premise, MOBIN had worked assiduously, believing that it was building a formidable haven in the interest of Biafrans. This was based on three cardinal principles which Biafrans at this juncture, cannot afford to sacrifice-Justice, Equity and Truth.
MOBIN believes that aside the fact that the very first political experiment involving Biafrans by the party was fraught with fraud and irregularities- the Anambra governorship primaries, the UPP has not demonstrated it’s an ideal party for the Biafran people.
In other Nigerian environments, the Anambra primaries would have been acceptable, but the contest was between two Biafrans and if any of them had won through that flawed process, MOBIN would still have rejected it. This is because the very corruption which had maligned Biafrans in Nigeria was introduced in the process, and as such, is unacceptable.
Accepting it would have been a betrayal of the very principles and people MOBIN had set out to defend.
Before Biafrans joined the party, neither Biafrans nor UPP had any edge in Nigerian politics. The experiment was worthwhile since both parties benefited immensely- while the party soared in popularity overnight, the Biafrans learnt one or two things about politics. It was a worthwhile adventure, and fun while it lasted.
At the moment, MOBIN wants to reassure Biafrans that it is still having consultations and will come up with a better political alternative for this year’s governorship elections in Anambra State.
In the interim, MOBIN will continue to build its structures across Biafraland, and educate Biafrans on the benefits of the political process in the struggle for freedom from Nigeria. Biafrans across the world are hereby advised to be on standby, especially in Anambra State. Be assured that MOBIN shall never compromise your efforts for a pot of porridge. Our position can never run contrary to that on which the Biafran ideology is hinged, and that includes Justice, Equity and Truth.
MOBIN wishes to salute all Biafrans who have expressed great faith in the political experiment, which is beginning to pay off. MOBIN wishes to especially thank Biafran students, who embraced the ideologies and formed the very fast growing Biafran Students Union (BIASU).
MOBIN also salutes Biafrans who for now, appear to be skeptical about going through the political option. Despite ideological differences, MOBIN is convinced that this is the way to go in achieving the freedom that will make Biafra a subject of international law.
Once again, Biafrans should be on standby as our position will be unveiled soon.
God bless you all.
SIGNED,
Rita Eberechukwu Anigbogu,
DIRECTOR GENERAL.
