The Director of Researcher and Strategy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Don Pedro Obaseki, on Sunday, spoke on the controversies around the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.
There have been claims that the certificate presented by President Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was allegedly forged.
An allegation which has been denied by the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obaseki, in an interview on AIT News, said if people go to the Homeland Security Office and type the Social Security Number (SSN) of the Chicago State University (CSU) certificate purportedly owned by President Tinubu, it will show Abimbola Adenike Tinubu.
He added that the certificate belongs to a woman who attended Southwest College and had three HSC results, which included physics, chemistry, and biology.
Obaseki further stated that every signatory on the certificate presented by President Tinubu was not an official signatory of the university at the time when that certificate was purportedly issued.
He said, “You’re saying that they said in the deposition that the same person is our president; they never said so.
“That is a lie from the pit of hell. They said a certain Bola A, not Ahmed Tinubu, attended Chicago State University; that is the fact, but they did not say he graduated, nor did they say that the certificate he presented was official.
“The issue is, don’t leave the issue; the issue is that Mr Tinubu presented a certificate to INEC, and every signatory on that certificate was not an official signatory of the university as of the time when that certificate was purportedly issued.
“That is one, and they were silent on that. Number two, the originating social security number (SSN), you can even do it yourself; go to the homeland security office and type it online; it shows Abimbola Adenike Tinubu, a woman who entered Southwest College.”
Governor Dr. Alex Otti wins at Abia Gubernatorial Election Tribunal. The Tribunal dismissed both cases of PDP and APC and affirmed the victory the people of Abia State gave to Governor Otti on March 18, 2023.
The head of the three-person tribunal, Justice H.D.D. Gwada, gave the decision on Friday in Umuahia, the state capital. He said the petition did not have any grounds.

In conclusion,Atiku will be sending application to the supreme court with the documents from the case.
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, will today address a world press conference on the issue of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records released by the Chicago State University.
Former Nigeria Vice President and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic People, Atiku Abubakar, has called on Nigeria’s traditional, religious and political leaders to join in the campaign to ensure probity regarding President Bola Tinubu’s credentials to be Nigeria’s President.
“As leaders it is out duty to advance the well being of all,” he said.
“People look up to us to respect the rules and defend them.”
He said it should not take months or a decade to certify a candidate’s credentials.
He said Nigeria’s reputation is at stake.
“I’m a democrat by conviction and the citizen of a country that I love,” he said.
He paid tribute to the late human rights activist Gani Fawehinmi who he said inspired him on the voyage of discovery.
“Now he can truly rest in peace.”
He commended journalist David Hundeyin and described him as a source of inspiration.
“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance,” he said.
He called on Nigerian leaders, including traditional and religious leaders, as well as political leaders like Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwanksaso to join in the campaign to ensure probity.
“I will only drop the fight when the court rules,” he said.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued licenses to 17 Independent Electricity Distribution Networks operators, with 10 of them currently operational, according to the 2022 Market Competition Report released by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Tuesday.

The Lagos State Police Command has declared Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, wanted over the death of Afrobeats musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad. The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police, Ben Hundeyin, declared Primeboy wanted on Wednesday in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
“Following his failure to honor police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy,” Hundeyin said.
He added that Ibrahim is approximately 1.64 m tall, male, dark-complexioned with tribal marks, and Yoruba by tribe. Primeboy’s last known address, according to the statement, is 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu, in Lagos State.
“If seen, contact the nearest police station or call 08036885727,” the police spokesman stated.
Hundeyin also said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has offered a handsome reward of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) to anyone with useful information leading to Primeboy’s arrest.
Meanwhile, the owner of Marlian records Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley is now in Police custody for interrogation over the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
The Nigerian Police Force had also last Thursday confirmed that Balogun Olamilekan Eletu known as Sam Larry was in their custody over the sad incident.
Following the death of Mohbad on September 12, Nigerians pointed accusing fingers at Naira Marley, Sam Larry and many other individuals in the Marlian record label due to the way they bullied the late musician.
The Attorneys to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are reportedly at the United States Court of Appeal shopping for any Judge that can grant an “Emergency Motion” to stop Chicago State University (CSU) from handing over Tinubu’s documents to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
It was gathered, however, that while Tinubu and his lawyers are busy shopping for an “Emergency Motions Judge” at the U.S Court of Appeal, Seventh Circuit, Attorneys to Alhaji Abubakar are already prepared to counter.
Tinubu and his lawyers are reportedly in a frenzy with few hours to the expiration of the ultimatum given by United States District Court Judge, Hon. Nancy L. Maldonado on September 30.
Judge Maldonado had, in her judgement in a suit filed former Vice President of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, adopted the judgement of Magistrate Judge Gilbert.
Judge Gilbert had, in his decision, recommended in full and ordered Chicago State University to release Tinubu’s academic records to Atiku.
With just few hours left, there speculations that Tinubu’s team would succeed.
We learnt that barely 40 minutes ago, Chicago State University is already making preparations to hand over the documents to Atiku’s lawyers.
Reacting to the development, a former presidential aide, Mr. Jackson Udeh said that this is “the end of a fraudster”.
He said: “It is all over now for Bola Tinubu. All efforts to appeal and block the release of his academic records from the Chicago State University has failed.
“The school is now complying and making the release available to Atiku Abubakar’s lawyers. All documents…”
He also urged Nigerians to keep an eye on one Adesanya of a man who suddenly appeared from nowhere to claim he was Tinubu’s classmate at the University.
Reporting on further development, investigative journalist, Mr. David Hundeyin said:
“Atiku’s legal team tells me that Tinubu’s lawyers approached 3 Appeal courts in the US today without success.
“They then requested Atiku’s lawyers in Chicago to shift the deposition time tomorrow from 10am to 12noon so as to buy time. Atiku’s team refused.”
Below is a breakdown of analysis on what to expect from Bola Tinubu’s forged academic records as presented by Mr. Udeh:
A. The document marked “A” is the certificate submitted by BAT to INEC. This certificate is in every material respect, exactly the same as the document marked “B” except for the following:
1. “A” is signed by at least 3 people whereas “B” is signed by only 2 people.
2. The document marked “E” states that BAT was issued a certificate on 22nd June 1979 but then proceeded to forward a copy of a certificate (“B”) dated 27th June 1979. Please note that “A” is actually dated 22nd June 1979, but this document did not emanate from CSU. Only “B” did.
3. It is clear that either “A” or “B” is fake (if not both). You cannot have two certificates issued by the same university, to the same person, for the same course of study, but issued on different dates and signed by two different sets of people.
4. The documents “A” and “B” both state that BAT graduated with a BSc in “Business AND Administration” whereas, document “E” (which came from CSU) states that BAT graduated with a BSc in “Business Administration”. It is important to note that CSU’s website states that “The College of Business offers a contemporary business program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Masters in Business Administration (MBA)”. Nowhere is there any reference to “Business AND Administration” throughout the website.
5. If you look at both “A” and “B”, it would appear that one of them is fake. Further interrogation of both documents however tell me that BOTH certificates may well be fake – notwithstanding that “B” was purportedly issued by CSU. My reasons:
i. Both certificates were purportedly signed by Dr. Elnora D. Daniel. This is physically impossible, as Dr. Daniel was only President of CSU from 1998 to 2008. She was neither president of the university in 1979 – when the certificate was purportedly issued – nor was she president in 2022, when the replacement certificates were issued. (See document marked “D1” and “D2”)
ii. Certificate “A” was purportedly signed by two other people apart from Dr. Elnora D. Daniel. These names are not clear and it is indicative of a deliberate attempt to confuse the reader into believing the authenticity of the document.
iii. Certificate “A” was purportedly signed by Dr. Niva Lubin (please note that her name is actually Dr. Niva Lubin-Johnson and every public document or reference bears her full name, and not the abbreviation). This is also physically impossible, as Dr. Lubin-Johnson was the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of CSU from January 2001 to December 2002 only. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees only in 1996 and was not made the Chairperson until five years later. Dr. Lubin-Johnson was neither a member of the Board of Trustees nor its Chairperson in 1979 – when the purportedly issued – nor was she Chairperson in 2022, when the replacement certificate was purportedly issued. (See document marked “C1” and “C2”).

Two out of the three justices, led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi declared that Governor Abdullahi Sule was not validly elected.
Gunmen suspected to be enforcing an illegal Monday sit-at-home order, have again, disrupted peace in Ebonyi State .
They attacked motorists and damaged properties on the Abakaliki/Enugu Expressways. The source said the gunmen visited the Ezzangbo junction in Ohaukwu local government area and burnt vehicles and motorcycles.
He said: “Unknown Gunmen visited Ezzamgbo Junction today, burnt down two vehicles and two motorcycles at Sam. Egwu’s flyover along Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway, Ebonyi State Nigeria.”
Videos showing the vehicles and motorcycles burning with terrified residents scampering for safety as gunshots were fired intermittently have since gone viral on social media.
