Anambra Govt is After my Life, Investigative Journalist Cries Out

An investigative journalist, Karen James, has alleged that her life is in danger.

She stated this in a statement on Thursday, saying that her trouble began after she exposed an alleged scandal in the Anambra Ministry of Education.

SHE PETITIONS:

In a world where truth-seeking sometimes comes at a high price, Karen James, a journalist investigating corruption in the State education sector, has become the latest target of shadowy assassins sent to silence her.

It might interest you that Karen James had been conducting a month long investigation into the inner workings of the Anambra State education system, where she uncovered massive corruption , incompetence and outright disregard of public yearnings for truth into the Blessed Wisdom Model School saga in Onitsha that abruptly ended their 3rd term promotion examination and inadvertently displacing over 600 school children from schooling hence casting them unto the streets of Onitsha .

Few weeks into publication of the news, Karen James has being receiving death threats and was told to halt the investigation as it was perceived as a direct attack to the Education ministry of Anambra State and far more to the people that calls the shots in the education ministry in Anambra State.

However , she soldiered on, unmoved by the threats directed at her to uncover the rot, incompetence and excessive abuse of power in Anambra State Education ministry.

The journalist’s troubles took a dramatic turn for the worse when she red flagged the probe panel constituted to investigate the incident after closing the school, denying the children their promotion examination and sending over 600 school children to the street abyss .

The incompetency in the Anambra Education sector was brought to bear as the case was never investigated in the first place before sanctioning the school by closing it down to the detriment of the school children rather they relied on a protest letter sent by the child’s parents through their lawyer to pronounce judgement on the school outrightly disregarding the fate of the school children. Karen James was believed to have orchestrated the unchecked incompetence and injustices in the Anambra Education sector and hence must be mowed down at all cost.

Since that revelation, Karen James alleges that she has been the target of several assassination attempts, as unscrupulous individuals, reportedly sent after her, seek to silence her as she remained defiant in halting the investigation. Fearing for her life, the journalist, who now resides in hiding, has cried out, questioning why journalists should be targeted when doing their work of uncovering wrongdoings in the society.

“Is it a sin to investigate matters as a journalist? Aren’t journalists meant to uphold the truth and expose corruption wherever they find it? Why do I need to be hunted down like an animal for doing my job?” Karen laments. She also made it clear that if anything should happen to her , the general public and the security agencies knows where to beam their search lights directly and hold them responsible and accountable.

As her quest for truth continues, Karen remains focused and determined to unearth every illegal activity in the Anambra education system and bring those responsible to justice. However, the dangers she faces for daring to investigate this matter and bring out the truth raises a bigger question: Is it a crime for journalists to ask questions where powerful personalities are involved, or is the truth always too bitter a pill for someone to swallow?

Today makes it 31days since the closure of Blessed Wisdom Model School Onitsha and few weeks from now schools will reopen, What exactly did the probe panel found and how will the over 600 school children go back to school ? These questions have not been answered by Anambra State Education Ministry . Let justice be done to these school children for them to get back to school by reopening the school.

However, 3 letters has been written to the Governor concerning this Blessed Wisdom Model School Onitsha closure saga and the governor have not acted on the little children fate, it shows that the Governor does not care about the future of the little 600 children.

If I can bring back the promises of the governor Charles Soludo Chukwuma made to NDI Anambra on Education

This is the time for that manifesto to manifest.

Tinubu not Fit to be President, May Overrun Tribunal Judgement with Niger War- Najatu

A former Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Hajiya Najatu Muhammad has expressed concerns about the plans to declare war on the Niger Republic by ECOWAS, led by President Bola Tinubu.

She views this as a diversion from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) proceedings.

In her statement, Muhammed stressed the importance of unity in standing against violence.

She urged Nigerians to be mindful of “the devastating consequences of war on human lives and societies,” and to call on ECOWAS leaders to pursue peaceful means.

This is coming after ECOWAS ordered immediate standby military force against Niger Coup leaders.

Speaking on the order, Najatu said, “Such despicable action in the name of democracy is not only condemnable but also unacceptable. Today in Nigeria, we have Tinubu being supported by France after the most controversial election declaration in the history of our country.

“If Nigeria is at war, Tinubu can declare a state of emergency or martial law that will allow him to remain in power indefinitely, putting aside any tribunal or judicial process challenging his eligibility to even contest the election.

“With the backing of France and other colonial powers, he will deploy security forces to quail any form of protest to his undemocratic and unconstitutional machinations.

“Tinubu is aware that he is not eligible to contest. The Tribunal judges know this, APC as a political party also knows this. So, why is Tinubu so eager to go to war on behalf of France and with the backing of France in the name of democracy?”

Breaking: Sanusi Reveals the Details of Meeting with Niger Republic Coup Leaders

The former emir of Kano in northern Nigeria revealed on Wednesday that he had traveled to Niamey, the capital of Niger, for the purpose of engaging in mediation talks with the military leaders who orchestrated a coup two weeks ago

“We have had discussions with the leader of the nation,” said Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the ex-emir, referring to General Abdourahamane Tiani, the new leader in Niger.

He mentioned that he plans to convey a “message” to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, as he appeared on Nigerian state television. He clarified that he was not acting as a representative of the government.

Sanusi’s communication occurred just ahead of a crucial summit organized by the West African bloc ECOWAS, focused on resolving the ongoing crisis in the Sahel region. This summit is set to be presided over by Tinubu.

Sanusi is recognized for his close friendship with Tinubu, who was once the governor of Lagos State, where Sanusi is originally from.

“We arrived with the hope that our presence will facilitate substantial discussions between the leaders of Niger and those of Nigeria,” Sanusi stated.

While Tinubu has expressed a preference for diplomatic resolutions, ECOWAS has cautioned that there is potential for a military intervention to reinstate Niger’s democratically elected government

Marketers Hint on Increment of Cooking Gas

Tougher times are ahead of gas consumers, as marketers have hinted that prices will go up next week.

The President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers,  Olatunbosun Oladapo, said gas consumers should brace themselves for price hikes starting next week.

He cited rising international prices, high tax rates and prices of vessels, forex scarcity, and naira devaluation as some of the reasons for the intended price review.

“It is starting next week because international prices have gone up. The prices of vessels have gone up and taxes are high, but consumers are not earning more.

Their purchasing power has gone down. Everybody is crying. Consumers, middlemen, and retailers are feeling the impact because business is now on the low side,” he said.

Olatunbosun described the imminent price increment as unfortunate.

“The situation is very unfortunate because prices are going higher. Nigerian consumers are passing through very difficult times because they can no longer afford gas,” he added.

According to him, consumers are now returning to firewood, charcoal, and sawdust for cooking.

The government should come in and alleviate the suffering of the masses by providing palliatives, reducing taxes and levies.

“You can imagine that for every 1kg of gas priced at N700, tax would take way N3.50. How much is left in such a business?” he continued.

He urged the government to tax profit and not products because consumers were not buying gas anymore.

“Local taxes are worsening the problem,” he said, calling on marketers who had the opportunity to buy products locally to fix prices with “consumers’ sympathy” in mind.

His reaction came on the heels of findings by The PUNCH that vessel scarcity in the international market would push up local prices of Liquified Natural Gas, also known as cooking gas in the coming months.

Vessel scarcity in the international market has led to charter rate hikes, ahead of the 2023 winter, when demand for heating fuel peaks.

As of August 1, 2023, charter rates surged to $284,750 per day for November and $206,750/day for October, quadrupling the current price of $70,500/day, according to data from Spark Commodities quoted by Bloomberg.

Tanker supplies are increasingly tight because traders are using the ships as floating storage in a bet that LNG prices will rise as the weather turns colder.

Volatile shipping rates can eat up margin for an LNG trader looking to cash in on higher winter prices, and rising transportation costs ultimately can mean higher prices for buyers in Europe and Asia.”

The number of LNG vessels floating on the water for at least 20 days also rose in late July, with 42 vessels tracked, which is about 27 per cent higher than the same time a year earlier.

Nigerian LPG prices are internationally benchmarked based on Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Contract prices and are always influenced by international prices.

And like other internationally traded commodities subjected to price fluctuations due to market dynamics, the NLNG CP is subject to changes and can be reviewed either upwards or downwards at least once to three times.

The devaluation of the local currency would also impact the domestic price of LPG.

The dollar exchanged for N749.62 on Wednesday, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The Nigerian LNG usually sells the cooking gas it produces locally to off-takers based on the prevailing exchange rate.

The PUNCH checks showed that the prices of 20 metric tonnes of LPG at the major depots in Apapa, Lagos, between July 28 and August 7 had been between N10.7m and 11m.

Local consumers of cooking gas have for some months now enjoyed low prices due to a drop in international prices.

The price of LPG dropped from an average of N730 per kilogram in June to around N600/kg in July and increased to N750/kg in August due to the naira devaluation.

As of June, the price dropped by 76.1 per cent to 2.10 per one million British Thermal Units on May 31 from 8.78 per one million BTU, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration.

A report by the National Bureau of Statistics on retail gas prices said the average retail price for refilling a 5kg cylinder of cooking gas decreased by 6.71 per cent month-on-month from N4,360.69 recorded in May to N4,068.26 in June.

Niger Republic Coup is a Saving Grace to Nigerians

7th August 2023

THE COUP D’ETAT IN NIGER REPUBLIC IS A SAVING GRACE TO NIGERIA: A REVELATION BY THE NATIVE INDIGENOUS HAUSA PEOPLE OF NIGERIA.

We as Hausa People of Hausaland in Nigeria love Democracy but only to the extent it administers Justice, Fairness and Equity to all people wherever it is practiced.
Recall that the eight years of Nigeria’s democratic rule under former President Muhammadu Buhari was an unmitigated disaster to us as Natives of Hausaland and Nigerians in general. Under him Security, Economy, and Corruption withnessed the worst ever deteriotion in the history of Nigeria if not the entire world.
Just because Buhari as a Fulani man was in power, the Fulani people had the free latitude to acquire arms and ammunitions, and flaunt them in public glare without consequences, rather the government made excuses for them and justified their bearing of arms and killing of Nigerians regardless of tribe or religion, but land grabbing for the Fulani, and their self arrogated freedom to commit Rape, Murder, Barbarism, Imposition of Cannibalism on Hausa people, and Burning of Hausa people Alive. All these evil vices under Buhari represented the Fulani’s concept of Democracy.
Also recall Buhari/APC’s propaganda against former President Goodluck Jonathan/PDP that they were the sponsors of Boko Haram and therefore had no capacity to tackle insecurity and economic problems of Nigeria. Not only did Buhari woefully failed in the areas of security and economy, he added to Boko Haram: Fulani Hersdmen and Miyetti Allah in the terror agenda of his government.
Buhari as a known friend to the ousted President of Niger Republic Mohamed Bazoum was sponsor of the later’s presidential project using the funds and resources of the Nigerian government.
The interest of the Nigerian Fulani in the government of Niger Republic particularly the ousted President Bazoum lies in their plans to merge the Niger Republic and Northern part of Nigeria to form Fulani Colony and thereafter, mobilize Fulani from all over Africa to militarily take over Nigeria to complete the Fulanization and Colonization of Nigeria.
Also recall that Buhari hastily constructed Railway lines to Niger Republic and signed contracts to build refinery in Katsina and Niger Republic to supply the crude oil. Buhari also granted free visa entry to Nigeria for all Africans.
These are mere war strategies and logistics for the Fulani’s Planned war against Nigeria. The railways will provide free transportation for their procured militias across Africa while the refinery will guarantee them steady supply of fuels for transportation of their warriors and logistics through the Republic of Niger into Nigeria. Buhari had hinted to relocate to Niger as his retirement home because of his faith in success of the agenda. The Fulani clerics are now all over media spaces in condemnation of the Nigerien Coup but the same Clerics saw nothing wrong in the earlier coups in Mali and Burkina Faso, because Niger Republic is central to their Colonization Agenda over Nigeria.
This Nigerien Coup D’etat that represent a nightmare to Buhari, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar and their fellow Fulani people, has put a wedge into their age long plans and dreams to takeover and own Nigeria as the Usman Danfodiyo’s Fulani Family Heritage. Their entire evil plans are foiled by the Coup.
These are facts the National Security Adviser to Present Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Nuhu Ribadu as a Fulani Man) will never permit the President to know.
Therefore, any effort to restore Mohamed Bazoum to power will shoot Nigeria on her feet.
THIS NIGERIEN COUP D’ETAT IS THE SAVING GRACE TO NIGERIA.

The Making Of New Cabal In Aso Rock- Jackson Ude

A new cabal, much more vicious, power hungry and corrupt has emerged in the Bola Tinubu Presidency. The Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, have formed a tag team, controlling the affairs of Government, shielding Tinubu away from happenings and forming a cabal that would sooner or later tear down the house of APC.
At the back of their mind is 2027 elections. Gbajabiamila does not see Tinubu either completing his tenure or having the capacity to run again in 2027 due to his failing health. His strategy is now to clip the wings of those he perceive might be on his way to replace Tinubu. Gbajabiamila found an ally in Ribadu. His calculation is that in the event Tinubu cannot continue, he would make Ribadu his running mate. But in the event Tinubu finishes 8yrs, and power is to return to the North, he would run as Ribadu’s running mate.
To achieve those plans, it serves him well to get Mallam Elrufai out of the equation. Elrufai’s clearance for a Ministerial position has now been put on hold. Gbaja and Ribadu are said to have masterminded that to keep the former Kaduna Governor out of the race for 2027 or 2031.
Gbajabiamila and Ribadu’s scheme have brought a major crack in the APC, and Presidency, especially with those who toiled day and night campaigning for Tinubu. There is palpable anger. Anger of being left out from the Ministerial nominations and others political positions. Those who were hitherto close to Tinubu are now so shocked how they were either left out or no longer have access to the President. Gbajabiamila and Ribadu have shut them out, leaving them In regrets.
In Katsina State, a very close ally of Tinubu, Senator Habu Ibrahim, did not make the Ministerial list and no longer have unfettered access to Tinubu. Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, also lost out of reckoning.
In Ekiti State, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, an intellectual base of the APC, was left out. Same with a renegade member of the PDP, Ayo Fayose.
In Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode and Abike Dabiri were all left out for an unknown Lola Ade-John who is alleged to be a girlfriend of Wale Edun.
In Enugu State, former Governors Chimaraoke Nnamani and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi both betrayed their party, the PDP to work for Tinubu. They have both been shut out. They didn’t get a Ministerial position.
In Oyo state, Senator Teslim Folarin suffered humiliation from his own party, the APC, which worked against his Governorship ambitions and yet he never got compensated with a Ministerial nomination.
Bashir Lado, Kashim Imam, both long term northern friends of Tinubu lost out and shut out from the villa. Magnus Abe who was tipped for a Ministerial position alongside Nyesom Wike, lost out and shut out because Wike would not have him around.
In Bayelsa, Ebitimi Ambare lost out to Henekein Lokpobiri, a nominee of Wike.
Bayo Onanuga, Tunde Rahman, both very close persons to Tinubu lost out. In fact, Rahman who should have been made the Media Adviser to the President, was blocked by the duo of Gbajabiamila and Dele Alake. Rahman is now considering leaving the Government.
Femi Fani-Kayode, Tunji Bello, Babatunde Ogala, Ahmed Raji, Abiodun Faleke Senator Tokubo Abiru, and very close friends of Tinubu who have all been schemed out and shut out.
The duo of Gbajabiamila and Ribadu are playing their cards well, watching for anyone who might be a threat to their 2027 or 2031 Presidential ambitions. How long the scheming would last would be determined by the strength of their strategies.

Niger Coup, Consequence Of Challenges Hindering Africa’s Full Emancipation – BDFCG

… as group explains why it adopts democratic process in achieving Biafra

By Joseph Albert, Awka

A pro-Biafran group, Biafra De Facto Customary Government (BDFCG), has described the coup d’etat in Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso and most recently Niger republic as attendant consequences of the lingering challenges that hinder Africa’s full emancipation from the vestiges of its colonial past.

In a statement made available to Journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital, BDFCG said the whole of Africa has continued to grapple with the remnants of colonialism, with far-reaching effects on its political, economic, and social structures.

The statement signed by BDFCG Spokesperson, Prosper Odinga, gave full support to sincere efforts to liberate any part of Africa from colonial strongholds, adding that the recent coup in Niger, if welcomed by the people of Niger, must be given a chance.

The group however explained that true liberation requires comprehensive efforts to achieve political independence, economic empowerment, social justice, and promotion of African cultural heritage, saying that it is imperative that African nations strengthen their economic systems, as well as foster intra-continental trade and cooperation in order to achieve sustainable development and lift its people out of poverty.

On Biafra, BDFCG explained that it opted to toe the path of rule of law and democratic process in pursuit of self-determination because it believes that the power of the people is supreme.

The statement reads in part:
“Furthermore, we recognize that Africa, as a whole, continues to grapple with the remnants of colonialism, which have had far-reaching effects on its political, economic, and social structures. Coup d’etat in Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso and most recently Niger remains attendant consequences of the still lingering challenges that hinder the continent’s full emancipation from the vestiges of its colonial past.

We believe that true liberation requires comprehensive efforts to address not only political independence but also economic empowerment, social justice, and the promotion of African cultural heritage. It is imperative that African nations strengthen their economic systems, and foster intra-continental trade and cooperation. By doing so, Africa can leverage its abundant resources, talents, and potential to achieve sustainable development and lift its people out of poverty.

Therefore, BDFCG endorses sincere efforts to liberate any part of Africa from Colonial strongholds. The recent coup in Niger, if welcomed by the people of Niger, must be given a chance.

Finally, as we pursue self-determination agenda for the people of former Eastern Nigeria, it is our belief that the power of the people is supreme, hence our determination to toe the path of rule of law and democratic process to reach our destination as a people”.
