The member representing Njikoka 1 constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Timothy Ifedioramma has started that the out-going governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano started well especially on the aspect of security but ended poorly.
Ifedioramma in an interview with Hybrid News Nigeria after plenary urging the incoming governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to learn from the mistakes of Obiano.
In his words: “If Obiano had ended his administration in the first tenure, I would have scored him a 80 percent but these last tenure was disaster.
“Soo many other sectors suffered because he was pursuing some legacy projects. Which tied up the economy of the State.
“The ten thousand capacity international convention center could have been five thousand capacity so as to safe cost and have money for other projects.
“Obiano has done his part, he has good intentions but the actions behind those good intentions to a large extent where not properly carried out.
“It is important that we understand that in the morden democracy is like a relay race where one passes the baten over to another. It’s an endless circle.
‘Ndi-Anambra are grateful for the international airport and I applaud Obiano for the thought but the effects of that project was that other sectors and the economy of the state was held to ransom.
“Anambra roads are in a bad shape. We have an airport but no roads to the airport. I will want the next administration not to toe that path of holding on to one project at the expense of multiple others.
“In governance, it is important to differentiate between what one did by himself and what was done with the tax payers money.
“Governance according to section 14-2 of the 1999 constitution as amended stated clearly the purpose of governance which is for the welfare and security of the people.
Obiano will on the 17th of March 2022 hand-over the leadership of Anambra State to the governor-elect Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

The attention of Good Governance Ministry (GGM ) has been drawn to audio message going round the social media credited to Enugu For Good Governance being led by one Paul Okafor. The message is most undemocratic as well as misleading! How can a group that goes with the name ‘ Enugu for good governance ‘ shamelessly gave the Governor absolute authority to decide on who becomes PDP Gubernatorial Candidate? Must we continue to do the wrong thing even in 2022 ?
GGM acknowledges that the State Governor is the Leader of a political party in his State but that does not give him constitutional power to choose who becomes the party flag bearer. A sitting Governor as a Leader of a political party ensures that all the Gubernatorial Aspirants are given a level playing ground and creates an atmosphere for the best candidate to emerge as a party candidate.
The audio message narrowed to Isiuzo as the place that will produce the next PDP Gubernatorial Candidate. GGM has noted a zoning pattern that has been existing in different parts of the country ,though unconstitutional but promotes equity ,fairness and justice . At the State level ,the zoning or power sharing is among three senatorial zones . Mostly ,it is a gentleman agreement and understanding.
Good Governance Ministry(GGM) representing public interest is interested in the best candidate that would represent the aspiration of the masses not few party stakeholders. Like we did in Anambra state where we advised all the political parties to present their best candidates in line with GGM appraising rating viz outstanding leadership qualities both in private and public sectors, ability to inspire the people through public communication, passion to deliver good governance, integrity, courage to execute difficult task etc.
We,therefore wish to distance ourselves from the audio message coming from Enugu For Good Governance as the content did not represent what GGM stands for.
The general public should note that the era of career politicians has ended . The masses have been used like slaves by few political stakeholders who think only for their personal and selfish interest .The political revolution has started in Anambra state and like wildfire ,it will spread . Nothing can stop it ! All the sitting Governors are advised to support Gubernatorial aspirants with excellent track records from public and private services.
GGM will mobilize the ordinary people to reject blood money and vote for credible candidates that will be the servant of the people .
Our reporter at the State House of Assembly Complex, Awka has just filed a news that gov Obiano is in the Assembly complex. He is right now in the office of the Speaker begging the state Assembly members to hold a Valedictory Session for him.
Our reporter stated that the members refused and told him point blank that he did not treat them well and would not hold such a revered session for him.
Valedictory Session is a farewell or a parting speech usually held in honour of a leader. It is a situation where all the house members would speak separately and eulogize the outgoing governor for doing well.
Part of the plot is that during the Valedictory remarks, one of the house members would move a motion for the Anambra airport to be named after the governor as a parting gift.
But our reporter told us that the members turned down his request and asked to him go, saying that he ate alone and never cared for their welfare.
The speaker is said to be begging them to consider his request.
As we are about filing this report, information just came in the Prof Soludo has joined the governor at the state House of Assembly.
A lady who could have been a victim of the action of an angry mob has been rescued by the operatives of Anambra State Police Command.
In a video trending online, the lady was accused of causing the death of her husband by the deceased family. In the video seen by our correspondent, the victim was lying lifeless while the lady was stripped naked and all manner of abuses was rained on her.
The members of the community said she killed her husband with overdose of sex and accused her of so many unprintable things.
However, the police said that one suspect has been arrested in relation to the inhuman treatment of the lady and they’re studying the video with the aim of identifying more suspects and bringing them to book.
The Anambra State Police Operatives have today, 12/3/2022 at about 12:07pm rescued a female victim from an angry mob in Aguleri.
The rescue, was as a result of a report from a trending video where a lady was publicly molested and assaulted on an alleged incident of causing the death of her late husband.
The Commissioner of Police CP Echeng Echeng while describing the act as barbaric, states that one suspect is already in custody and ordered immediate study of the video with the aim to identify the suspects, arrest and bring them to book.
“Further information reveals that the deceased had already been buried before the video started trending. The victim was rescued and she is currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
The attention of Good Governance Ministry has been drawn to the video clip trending in social media space where the outgoing Government of Obiano during the last State Executive meeting held in International Conference Centre , Awka passed an executive resolution changing Anambra International and cargo airport to Willie Obiano International & Cargo Airport.
GGM views such decision as Executive recklessness .It is just like a football winning team organising a gold medal for themselves. No doubt ,Governor Obiano has made history by starting and completing a legacy project like State- funded airport considering the strategic importance of such investment . Gov Obiano should be applauded but GGM was disappointed that the Governor could allow praise singers in the name of Government Officials to becloud his senses of reasoning by endorsing such decision.
Gov Obiano should not be deceived that those Government officials working for him have his interest at heart.
We , therefore advice that such idea should be trashed into a reserved waste-bin where it rightly belong. Gov Obiano should allow posterity to judge him rightly or wrongly.
During the same Executive Meeting Gov Obiano was heard advising the incoming Government of Prof Soludo to retain some of his cabinet members . GGM considers such open remark by the Governor as unnecessary. Such call has always been the cause of unending ‘cold war’ between the political godfather and godson . Gov Obiano should be advised to face his life on exit as the former Governor of Anambra State. Any effort to insist that certain things be done or to distract the new administration will backfire as the experience of the recent history is still fresh in our collective memory . Let peace reign in Anambra State.

The convener of the Moghalu4Nigeria movement, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, Tuesday announced a collaboration between the movement, Dr Ope Banwo’s Naija Lives Matter Organization, and the American Internet Business School, to provide a series of digital skills & self-employment empowerment bootcamps.
Prof. Moghalu, who is a 2023 Presidential Aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the bootcamp is targeted at Nigerian youth interested in learning how to legitimately monetize the internet for self-employment, using simple skills they can learn and deploy for profit in a matter of days.
In an unprecedented community service initiative that further sets him apart as a new kind of politician in Nigeria, Prof. Moghalu unveiled a program for the benefit of the youth and unemployed that is markedly different from the usual “fish-to-eat” practice of old school politicians handing out food and money whenever it is close to elections.

Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra Vision 2070 Chairman, today Thursday, March 10, 2022 submitted the committee report to Governor Willie Obiano
The colourful ceremony took place at the newly commissioned International Conference Centre, Awka, Anambra State
While presenting the 200-page report to Governor Willie Obiano, Prof Chukwuma Soludo gave a detailed background on how the committee came about the report which is expected to provide a plan which successive governments in Anambra State can rely upon for strategic direction of policies and programmes in developing the State
Prof Soludo, however, before making the formal presentation of the report told Governor Willie Obiano that the committee embarked on extensive consultation with many stakeholders’ groups, market and trade unions including church denominations, political appointees, traditional rulers, Anambra Elders Forum, and several other stakeholders.
He said a window of opportunity was also extended to all Ndi-Anambra to send in their ideas and suggestions
He emphasised that the report can truly be said to be an Anambra-owned report, stressing that successive governments irrespective of political party affiliation can also say it’s an Anambra owned plan
He thanked Governor Willie Obiano for giving everyone the opportunity to serve as a member in the Committee. He also expressed his appreciation to all the members of the committee for utilising their time and energy in serving selflessly in the committee
Soludo further assured Governor Willie Obiano that the implementation of the committee report will begin with the next administration, which incidentally, will be headed by him as the Governor-elect
Governor Willie Obiano in his brief remark thanked all the members of the committee for doing a great job in coming out with a plan that will seamlessly guide future administrations in the quest of fast-tracking growth and development in the State
It will also be recalled that the Anambra Vision 2070 Committee was inaugurated on the 21st of November 2019 by Governor Willie Obiano and the committee was charged to draft a 50-Year Perspective Plan for Anambra State as a future plan to drive development and growth in the State.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been banned by the UK government from carrying out transactions with UK individuals and businesses.
Abramovich also had his assets frozen, a prohibition on transactions with UK individuals and businesses, a travel ban and transport sanctions.
Fans of Chelsea might also be affected as the club was given special license to continute to operate and only existing ticket-holders can attend games.
A statement by the government said: “Given the significant impact that today’s sanctions would have on Chelsea football club and the potential knock on effects of this, the Government has this morning published a licence which authorises a number of football-related activities to continue at Chelsea.
This includes permissions for the club to continue playing matches and other football related activity which will in turn protect the Premier League, the wider football pyramid, loyal fans and other clubs. This licence will only allow certain explicitly named actions to ensure the designated individual is not able to circumvent UK sanctions. The licence will be kept under constant review and we will work closely with the football authorities.”
Six other Russia wealthy oligarchs, whose business empires, wealth and connections are closely associated with Vladimir Putin’s regime were also affected by the ban.
Former World Bank Vice-President and International Consultant, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili has stated that the era of government of ‘Chop-I-Chop’ is over in Anambra State with the inception of the incoming administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
She made this assertion in her interaction with Ndi Anambra on Twitter space organized by Njenje Media. The former due process boss expressed worry about the culture of turning governance to merriment and lavishness. She admonished that the party remains an important organ of democracy and should equally be engaged in policy direction, research and information gathering that helps the government function effectively. She made it clear that once Soludo assumes office, he automatically becomes the Governor of Ndi Anambra and not just for a particular political party.
Speaking further, she maintained that the old mindset of “na we work for the food, make we go chop” is wrong and must be eschewed by political players stressing that the era of entitlement mentality is gone. “Politics is not a transactional affair but rather a vehicle for touching the lives of citizens and developing a prosperous society”. She added.
Dr Ezekwesili also harped on Soludo’s plan to restore law & order, grow the economy amongst so many ideas as articulated in the transition report.
