Anambra 2021: PRM Restoration Time- 23/03/2021

Good morning my people, this is RESTORATION TIME.

Theme: The light of the nation/Africa
Text: Matthew 5:14-16

My people after reading the above text, you will agree with me that it is laughable when Anambra state claim to be the light of the nation or Ndigbo saying they are the light of Africa. There is no doubt that God blessed Ndigbo immensely in virtually all areas. Yet, we are still like slaves in Nigeria. Yes, individually most of us can be said to be successful but how about Ndigbo as a people? Are we truly shinning?

What are our major products as a people? How many private universities do we have in Alaigbo. Do we have even a private TV stations in Alaigbo? I don’t want to mention major factories and industries. I have heard some of us boasting that Ndigbo are everywhere in the world. That is true, but as slaves and marketers.
Ndigbo cannot shine as a people until they regain their political freedom by fully participating in electoral process. We are being politically controlled and manipulated by our enemies because we (the people) allowed it. I can tell us that past elections in Alaigbo only gave us native slave masters. We have never elected our own leaders. We have to change our attitudes towards election if we must shine as the light we are. Example, in 2017 election in Anambra state only about 500,000 people voted out of about 2,100,000 registered voters. This is very wrong. Turning Alaigbo to Prayerland is never the solution because God cannot do for us what we can do for ourselves. God has blessed us so much but because of our selfishness, we have failed to come together as a people and march to our promise land.

If we are truly the light we must fix our politics and say NO to vote buying and selling, NO to election boycott, NO to Godfatherism. NO to praise singing (Otimkpu). We must all join hands to chose who becomes our leader. We are the people and political power belongs to us.

Repent now and join PRM today as we continue to educate, preach, sensitize and mobilize our people for good governance and freedom. May God help us all in Jesus name, amen.

Gov Obiano Talks Tough : Addresses Anambra People

I wish to use this moment to update all citizens and residents in Anambra State with the recent happenings in the State and ongoing efforts by Government and security agencies to handle the situation.

Within the past week or so, we have witnessed what obviously is a planned and targeted attack on Security personnel and facilities in the State by armed hoodlums.

So far, Police Officers and Navy personnel on official duties at strategic checkpoints in various locations in the State were sporadically attacked, killed and their firearms taken away. Also, prison and police personnel conveying an inmate to court were equally attacked and killed.

This morning, a Police outpost was attacked unsuccessfully as joint Police, vigilante and Community efforts repelled the attackers.

Anambra State Government categorically condemns these attacks on our security personnel and is doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Since these attacks commenced, I have personally coordinated security Commanders in the State with a joint effort to halt this mayhem and by God’s, we will surely succeed. The State security Council has met twice and I summoned another emergency meeting this afternoon hence my address.

Let me emphatically state that any attacks on security personnel in Anambra is a direct attack on the State itself and will be resisted with our greatest might. Those who attack us are obviiously intent on distorting the peace and security we have enjoyed in Anambra State in the past seven years and we will not allow that.

We have received massive Police, Army, Navy and DSS deployment since yesterday and they have joined their teams on ground to enforce security.

I have therefore directed all security agencies in the State, the Vigilante Services, all task forces and every structure in the State security infrastructure to rise in defence of our dear state.

I call on all youths in Anambra State, all communities, all market task forces and indeed every outfit in this State to duty.

All traditional rulers, PGs, community leaders as well as every stakeholder in Anambra to rise to protect our State.

As your Governor, I hereby raise the security alert in the State and I commit to restoring order and security immediately.

I call on everybody irrespective of affiliations to come together and support Government and security agencies to fight our common enemy. Those who seek to destroy what we have laboured to build must not be tolerated in any manner. I ask the public to help with information and intelligence to the State to nip this situation in the bud.

Going forward, extensive security activities will be obvious and by God’s grace we shall overcome. Fitted Tinted glasses on vehicles as well as covered plate numbers will no longer be allowed on all roads within the State. Security agencies will be conducting special and strategic operations aimed at neutralising the emerging threats to our collective safety.

I therefore ask for the understanding of the public as this goes on and assure you that all law abiding citizens have nothing to worry about.

While I sympathise with the security agencies and families of those killed in these recent attacks, i urge all those involved in ongoing security efforts not to relent. The Police, military and all security agencies and outfits in the State are urged to step out in full boldness to reclaim the public space, dominate the streets, confront criminals when identified and urgently restore order and safety to Anambra State!

CULTISM AND TOUTING.

Ndi Anambra, also saturating the media waves is a horryifying video of the killing and beheading of an alleged cultist by members of a viral cult group. This is most despicable and a terrible act.

I wish to inform Anambra citizens and residents in the State that the Police has arrested three principal suspects and on the heels of their accomplices. They shall all face the full wrath of the law.

I have ordered a clampdown on all cultists and their activities. This state shall no longer tolerate the violence that erupts now and then in the name of cultism. Those who try our will in this regard will have themselves to blame! I urge all youths in the State to shun cultism and embrace meaningful lifestyles.

In the same vein, all kinds of touting in the State in whatever guise especially in Onitsha will no longer be tolerated. Security agencies are hereby directed to arrest anybody hanging on the road with sticks and molesting innocent citizens, drivers etc. The madness must stop.

KIDNAP AND MURDER OF PG OMOR.

I must also inform the public of the recent kidnap of the President General of Omor Community in Ayamelum local govt area and his murder by the kidnappers.

My heart goes out to the family of the late PG and the Omor community in general.

When the incident occurred, Govt in collaboration with the Police and the community youths made sustained efforts to rescue him alive. Unfortunately, his abductors killed him in the forest and fled.

It took efforts by the Police to recover his body after an extensive search exercise.

Let me assure all Omor people that the Government and security agencies are doing everything to apprehend the kidnappers with a few arrests made already. Massive security deployment will also be strategically made along the Ayamelum axis to stop further incursions by criminals.

I therefore urge you to remain calm as we are handling the situation.

Finally, let me restate the call for collective efforts by all Anambra people to defend our State against these recent attacks on security personnel and formations as this is the only solution to forestall criminality.

We cannot allow our security achievements and status as the safest state in Nigeria to be compromised at all.

I urge all Anambra people and residents in the State to come together, support Government and security agencies so that we can fight and win the war.

I assure you all that I am on top of the situation and that we shall very soon surmount this challenge.

Thank you and God bless.

Long live Anambra State,
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Obiano Launches Operation Fire For Fire On Criminals

There have been pockets of criminalities in Anambra state in the recent past threatening the status of Anambra as the safest state in Nigeria.

Worried by this unhealthy development, Governor Willie Obiano rose to the situation and summoned all security agencies In the state including local vigilante groups to restrategise to rid the state off hoodlums threatening the tranquility and security the state has enjoyed for so long.

Governor Obiano in a statewide address on the security situation assured the citizenry that he was on top of the situation and that citizens should not despair because perpetrators would be tracked down and brought to justice.

Insecurity: Obiano Bans Tinted Glass and covered Plate Number in Anambra State

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has banned vehicles with tinted glasses from plying any road in the state.

Also banned are vehicles with covered number plates.

The governor stated this in his address to the residents on Sunday.

He said the state had received reinforcement from security agencies to tackle insecurity.

The governor, who condoled with the families of those who lost their lives during recent terror attacks in the state, vowed that he would not allow the record he kept for seven years as the safest state in the country to be diminished by anybody, no matter how highly placed.

Obianno stated, “Within the past week or so, we have witnessed what obviously is a planned and targeted attack on security personnel and facilities in the state by armed hoodlums.

2023 And Ndigbo: BURDEN OF DISTORTED HISTORY- Law Mefor

Recently, when Doyin Okupe feebly declared he would contest for the office of the President in 2023, most Nigerians didn’t take note or take him seriously. To draw sufficient attention he challenged Nigerians to shoot him if he failed to end insincerity in 2 years as President of Nigeria, and also touted his closeness to two past great Nigerian Presidents as aide. He presented that intimacy as his ultimate political exposure and his main credential.

Yes, Doyin Okupe, a medical doctor turned politician, served Olusegun Obasanjo as Special Assistant on Media. He was also about the first aide to be fired by Obasanjo for reasons less than noble. For being so celebrated by the media, the scandal needs no rehashing here even for emphasis. Let nothing detract from the main object of the effort of this treatise.

President Goodluck Jonathan gave Okupe another chance in the same capacity as an assistant with Reuben Abati, as adviser, on the Media beat. In that new appointment, at the incipient days of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Okupe described the emerging behemoth political party as ‘Janjaweed’ and declared that he would go on exile if APC won. APC won but Okupe is still domiciled in Nigeria 6 years after.

Today, he has declared for President of Nigeria and challenged Nigerians to shoot him should he fail to end insecurity in Nigeria in 2 years. Of course Okupe will not become President and nobody will shoot him. Not that he is not qualified to contest but the power dynamics in Nigeria hold him an outsider in the equation and therefore without reckoning for 2023. Otherwise one would have to fear for Okupe’s life. The reason is that banditry could end in two years as Okupe had flaunted if its political dimensions, especially the political will, are well put in place. However, it is doubtful that terrorism can end even in a decade due to politicization, which provided the leeway for its amalgamation with ISWA and al-Qaeda to form the deadliest and most brutal force ever.

What is more, the asymmetric nature of Boko Haram terrorism is only deepening with things like the policy on the reintegration of the so-called repentant to terrorists into the civil populations. Additionally, the mutations of terrorists as bandits and herdsmen are believed to be going on too. All these show that ending insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria is no longer what can be done in such a determinate manner as Okupe pontificated in his interim manifesto.

So, in Doyin Okupe’s declaration for President and wishing terrorism away, one can easily see that he was merely talking and playing politics with national security. Political rhetoric and reality are polar opposites.

More importantly, days ago, Okupe took his indiscretion to Ndigbo, reminding them that their dream of governing Nigeria is not realizable for the reason that some soldiers of Igbo extraction killed Sadauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and that the Fulani are yet to forgive them for it. Summarily, Okupe said the Igbos must go and beg the North if they must have the Presidency because they killed the Sarduana of Sokoto.

Okupe’s claim is not new. The 1966 coup has been tagged an Igbo coup without logic, yet sustained for decades for political reasons and that is the former presidential aide most likely wanted reinforcing. He has merely gone for the same tool to pave the way for his unrealistic presidential ambition or more realistically, for the interest block he opaquely represents.

Come to think of it, since Okupe knows he will not become President of Nigeria – at least not in 2023 – and yet took his suicidal swipe at Ndigbo, what then could be his real motive? Hazarding an informed guess, one believes that Okupe is most likely working for a bigger interest that may be from South West, South South or Northern based who are beginning to see the rising potency of the agitation of Ndigbo to be given a chance to govern Nigeria in 2023. The idea is likely to demonise and demoralise Ndigbo by reminding them that it is not yet time for them to aspire to be the Nigerian President until, may be, as we hear, after 100 years, calculated from 1966.

So, to Okupe and his cohorts, Ndigbo must wait till 2066 and by then, no Igbo who was around when Sadauna was killed and during the resultant civil war would be around, only their descendants. That’s what is uncannily sinister about Okupe’s treatise – that sad reminder of the label as murderers hanging on the neck of Ndigbo like the sword of Damocles – that allusion of the imminent and ever-present peril faced by Ndigbo in Nigeria since 1966 for no fault of theirs.

Doyin Okupe’s masturbation of history needs to be corrected. And the issue of who killed Sadauna and others must be resolved as well. To set that crooked record straight, these questions need to be urgently answered: Did Ndigbo conspire to kill Sadauna? Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was no doubt from Ika (Igbo) whose mother was a Tiv and was born and bred in Kaduna; Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna was an Onitsha (Igbo) man but Major Adewale Ademoyega was a Yoruba man. These three and two others carried out a coup in which Sir Ahmadu Bello was killed. Why is the Igbo ethnic group singled out, labeled and blamed for an action carried by some misguided soldiers who most of who were not under any Igbo political or cultural influence?

Psychologically and culturally, Nzeogwu was more of a northerner where he was born and raised than Igbo. One may also ask: did Igbo leaders inspire or decide on the coup or the killings? Why are the Yoruba not blamed as well? Is Major Adewale Ademoyega no longer a Yoruba like Okupe? Blaming Ndigbo for the killing of Sir Ahmadu Bello and wiping out 3m, mostly Igbos for the same reason, during the civil war, in the rage of passion for vengeance, is just a case of giving a dog a bad name to hang it.

Does Okupe not also know that if Nigerian culture were matrilineal, Nzeogwu, though an Ika Igbo man, would be Tiv, his mother’s side, like Jerry Rawlings whose father was a Scot yet a Ghanaian and once that country’s President?

If Okupe actually wanted to be helpful, he should be advising the North that it was time to end such baseless acrimony, bitterness, hate and unforgiving spirit so that the nation can unite and move forward. Instead, he chose to scrape a possibly healing wound so that the sore may continue to fester and Ndigbo bearing the brunt to some fleeting advantage. This way, he probably hopes that the far North will resume their bemoaning of the death of Sadauna afresh, probably bay for more Igbo blood and deny their presidential aspiration any support.

Doyin Okupe should be reminded that Ndigbo will not backpedal on their quest to govern Nigeria in 2023. It is an inalienable right. No amount of emotional blackmail will deter them. If the reason for stopping Ndigbo in 2023 will be the 1966 coup, let Okupe and others who are like him note that the 5 Majors came from South South, South West, and of course from South East. What this means is that the entire South Nigeria should go beg the North for the death of Sadauna, not just Ndigbo alone, if Okupe were to be taken seriously. Though, nobody advised that this be done for Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan to become Presidents of Nigeria since their kinsmen from their zones were part of the 5 Majors who staged the most ill-advised coup in Nigerian history.

Nigerian President of Igbo extraction is now or never. Or, may I ask: if not in 2023, when? If not an Igbo, who? If not here, where?(Apologies Jesse Jackson). Ndigbo have no other country to call their own except Nigeria, a country in which they have made the most investments than any other group. They are either part of Nigeria or they are not. Let the Doyin Okupes of this world note.

Breaking:UNN Generates Electricity From Refuse

The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) on Tuesday set the record of electricity generation by using organic waste to install 100KVA Refuse Drived Fuel (RDF) gasification plant for its Nsukka Campus.

Prof Benjamin Ozumba, UNN Vice-Chancellor, who expressed happiness over the project during its inauguration, said the university would no longer be a customer to Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

He said the project was first of its kind in Nigeria and described it as another feather added to the cap of the institution.

“I am happy that the university under my watch has witnessed innovations and transformation, as today another feather has been added to the cap of my administration.

“This is the first of its kind in the country, using of waste to generate electricity.

“By the time more of the plants are produced that will cover every part of the university, millions of naira will be saved every month, as UNN will longer pay monthly electricity bill to EEDC, ” he said.

The VC also commended Prof Emenike Ejiogu-led research team that produced the RDF gas plant.

In his remark, Ejiogu from the Department of Electrical Engineering applauded Ozumba on his belief of making record-breaking innovations to transform UNN.

“The 100 KVA RDF project is designed and fabricated by laboratory of industrial power devices and energy system under special grant by Ozumba.

“The aim is to enable UNN to generate its own electricity with organic waste that will serve as fuel,” he said.

The Japan-trained engineer said his research team was set to produce 250KVA plants, which will supply the energy need of the entire university and its environ.

“UNN power demand now is 3mgwats, so with twelve 250KVA of RDF plants, we will meet electricity supply need of the university,” he said.

He said on request, his research team was ready to install the RDF plants to any individual, company or office who needed it.

“It is cheaper and can carry more loads than solar energy installation.

“With RDF plant in your house or office, it will carry your air-condition, deep freezers, pressing iron and other things in your house, office or company,” he said.

Ejiogu listed some of the organic waste that could be used as waste materials to power the plant to include: agricultural byproducts such as corn husks, wood chips among others.

He said the plant would create employment for many people through supplying of waste to UNN or other people who would be using the plant,” he said.

Some UNN staff in separate interview with Reporters described the innovation as one of the greatest legacies of Ozumba

ANAMBRA LAWYERS DECLARE 3DAYS STRIKE OVER INSECURITY

Lawyers in Anambra State have declared a three-day strike, starting from Monday, over insecurity in the state.

This came barely 24 hours after their member, Frank Onwuachi, who was abducted by gunmen was found dead.

Hoodlums had recently terrorised the state by killing no fewer than six policemen, four naval men, a prison’s warder and others.

Several police stations had also been set ablaze in similar-fact circumstances.

On Saturday, the Nigerian Bar Association, Anambra State Chapter, after reviewing the situation, ordered its members to boycott courts in the state for three days, starting from Monday.

A statement signed by the eight chairmen of bar branches in the state read in part, “The committee of chairmen and secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Association branches in Anambra State bemoans the worsening security situation in Anambra State and calls on the Federal Government, Anambra State Government and heads of security agencies to wake up and be alive to their responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of the citizens.

“The Committee notes that the security situation in Anambra State is highly tensed up and frightening to say the least.

“Recently, there has been cases of kidnap and gruesome murder/killing of innocent citizens and security personnel in the state and nothing is being done to curb this frightening security challenges in the State.

“Just last week Friday, a Lawyer, Frank Onwuachi, who is also the President General of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State was kidnapped along Ezu River/Anaku road and gruesomely murdered the following day by his captors.

“On 19/3/2021, two Prison Officers were killed at Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA and this is barely 24 hours after Naval officers and policemen were killed at Awkuzu and Neni respectively.

“Also, a Naval Outpost close to Bridgehead was attacked sometimes last week resulting to the killings of some Naval officers and their weapons carted away.

“We call on the State Government to as a matter of urgency summon a meeting of various security agencies in the state to address this worrisome security situations and tackle it headlong. Failure by the State Government to act immediately may lead to a descent to anarchy.

“We all cannot continue to downplay the Security situation or pretend that all is well. The time to act is now.”

While condoling with the NBA Otuocha branch, the families of late Frank Onwuachi and all security men killed by unknown gunmen, the lawyers resolved
that all lawyers in the state “shall boycott all courts from Monday to Wednesday”.

”That all lawyers in Anambra State should converge on the Judiciary Headquarters, Awka on Monday, by 12 noon for onward movement to the Government House, Awka to express our dissatisfaction with the current security situation in Anambra State,” the statement concluded.

Anambra 2021:All Soludo Support Groups Go For A Sucker Punch

The All Soludo Support Groups have pulled a sucker punch by committing the next phase of their mobilisation and networking for Soludo’s governorship bid to the will and guidance of the Almighty God. It was pure joy to watch.

ASSG are self-funded groups changing the category paradigm in our political antecedents and culture. They are like MTN, ” everywhere you go” in all major cities in Nigeria and across the globe. They are passionate men, women, boys and girls who are united by the dream and dogged devotion of Prof Chukwuma Soludo to build on the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano and those before him to transform Anambra to the best Livable one city state in Africa where the world will happily come to live, do business and relax.

Beyond the symbolic and very successful ceremony in Awka, let us be steadfast in our daily devotions in furtherance as we gain traction.

So, spare a minute or two today and always in supplications to God for the crystallisation
of the next Beauty and Glory of Anambra State.

Yes, Soludo himself leads the charge in his often said phrase- ” Akachukwu diya.” But also and always be in the trenches so we will be ahead in the race.
Cheers.
