Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor could be convicted soon for fraud, report reveal By Kalu Nwokoro Idika

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to the embattled leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu could be convicted soon for fraud and other offences.

This was revealed by Harvard trained lawyer and founder of Due Process Advocates (DPA), Barrister Emeka Ugwuonye.

In a report, titled, “WHY THE BIGGEST PROBLEM NNAMDI KANU AND IPOB MEMBERS HAVE HAD WAS THE LAWYER THEY USED”, Ugwuonye disclosed that Barrister Ejiofor has been implicated in a serious case of fraud, forgery, criminal breach of trust and that EFCC started to investigate the case in 2015.

According to the human rights attorney, the anti-graft agency has conducted a meticulous investigation and established what he described as water tight case against Ejiofor.

The charges against Ifeanyi Ejiofor he said, were filed in 2016 at the FCT High Court, Wuse, Abuja.

He however, said that the original judge retired and the case started de nove and was reassigned in 2020.

Ugwuonye said, “The case of this decade is going to be FRN vs. IFEANYI EJIOFOR & 2 ORS; CHARGE NO. CR/950/2020, Court No. 3, FCT High Court, Maitama, before Honourable Justice Anini. The case is coming up on 30/3/2022 for continuation of hearing. In that case, the lead counsel of IPOB, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor has been standing trial for fraud and other offences.

“Why do I think that I should be addressing all Igbos on this matter? In 2017, I agreed to represent Nnamdi Kanu in a limited capacity. One of the problems I had was that I could not work with Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor. I quietly narrowed my involvement in that case and eventually withdrew completely. But I did not say anything immediately.

“When Nnamdi Kanu’s case came up again, in 2021, I warned that Barrister Ejiofor was the greatest obstacle for Nnamdi Kanu. Many people did not understand this. In fact, many attacked me. Even the leaders of InterSociety, a group I had taken seriously before now, came out to attack me for objecting to Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

“Well, let me now reveal the shocking truth! Since 2015, Barrister Ejiofor has been implicated in a serious case of fraud, forgery, criminal breach of trust. The EFCC began to investigate the case in 2015. The EFCC did a very thorough investigation and built up a water tight case against Ejiofor. Charges were filed in 2016 at the FCT High Court, Wuse, Abuja. The original judge retired and the case started de nove and was reassigned in 2020. Hence, the new case number that shows 2020.

“The evidence is damning. And without intending to preempt the outcome, there is 90% chance that Ejiofor would be convicted.

“With this case and the evidence the state has, Barrister Ejiofor has all along been a tool in the hand of the Nigerian Government. He has been at the mercy of the government. He would do anything to stay out of prison. And he has been doing his best to please the government, but his clients were not aware.

“Normally, when a lawyer is facing a serious criminal trial and he knows there is strong evidence against him, he must inform his clients and give them the opportunity to evaluate whether they would use him despite his pending criminal trial. But Ejiofor did not explain his legal jeopardy to Nnamdi Kanu. He did not let him know that he was at the mercy of the government. And the government also kept quiet about it because they liked to use Ejiofor as a tool.

“Now that Nnamdi Kanu and his family have been able to side-track Ejiofor, the Government knows that Ejiofor has no further value in helping them deal with Nnamdi Kanu. Hence, the case is going forward with trial. Ejiofor was in court for his trial on Thursday, 3rd February. Trial will continue on 30th March, 2022. Ejiofor has been desperately asking for a plea bargain. He wants to plead guilty to a lesser offense that will avoid long jail time for him.

“Now, do you understand the implication: that all along, the lawyer Nnamdi Kanu has used was one that was at the mercy of the Government of Nigeria? Despite all the statements Ejiofor was making in the press, the fact was that he was at the mercy of the Government and could be working for them. You don’t have to be a lawyer to know that Barrister Ejiofor was not to have remained Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer when he was begging the Nigerian Government for a plea bargain. Poor Nnamdi Kanu and poor IPOB. They never understood what they faced. And what does this say about the Biafran project and the Igbos generally? These people were all along being controlled through their own lawyer.

“Well, I understand that many of you will not believe me. You don’t have to. I gave you a case and a charge number, the courtroom, the judge, and the court date. Why not find out yourself? God there tomorrow and ask the Registrar to show you the file. I have the 200-paged charging package. You can get a copy for yourself.”

When you Join APC your Sins are Forgiven Says an APC Insider as Ex- President Jonathan’s Minister Defects to APC

The former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe and former Director of Finance in the defunct President Goodluck Jonathan’s Campaign Organisation, Ngozi Olejeme, have secretly dumped their party, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), SaharaReporters reports.

The defection of the two former top government officials who hail from Delta State, and were visible loyalists of Jonathan during his administration, according to sources, was done in secret and yet to be formally brought to the public.

Orubebe, gained international attention during Nigeria’s 2015 presidential election when he interrupted the collation of votes in Abuja by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).

Jega you are Bias! Jega you must not continue with this procces.

Jega is tribalistic, Jega is partial, Jega is selective. We will not take it” Orubebe said during the collation of the presidential results in 2015.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, an executive member of the newly inaugurated Delta State APC, told SaharaReporters about the secret defection.

Yes, it’s true that the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe and the former Director of Finance in the defunct President Goodluck Jonathan’s Campaign Organisation and former Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Ngozi Olejeme, have secretly defected from their party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to our All Progressives Congress (APC).

“You know, Olejeme is facing serious N3 billion corruption charges filed by the EFCC. And of course, Orubebe is not also left out, we all know about his case with the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for alleged false declaration of assets and taking N70 million bribe.

You know once you join APC, all your sins are forgiven. Though you will not be immediately left off the hook, you will get a soft landing.

“Anyway, Orubebe and Olejeme’s defection is no longer a secret because, check yesterday Friday’s Vanguard newspaper, both of them were among our APC leaders in the state that signed the congratulatory message to our newly inaugurated chairman of Delta State APC, Omene Sobotie in Abuja, so both of them are our new members. They have joined hands with the party to flush out the PDP from the state in 2023,” the source boasted.

The APC in Tuomo Ward 3 in the Burutu Local Government Area of the state had in 2019 in a joint statement by its chairman, secretary and leader, Warebi Edonyanbo, Ofumu Welkper and Peres Oloye respectively, disclosed that they had it on good authority that the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Orubebe, who is from Tuomo Ward 3, was plotting to defect to the APC from the PDP and vowed to resist it.

Ironically, Omene Sobotie, a former PDP chieftain in Delta State, and now the state chairman of the APC had in 2015 called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Orubebe over his attempt to disrupt the compilation of results of the 2015 presidential election in Abuja.

When contacted for comment, Orubebe simply said, “fake news….”

Orubebe was accused by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) of false declaration of assets and taking N70 million bribe. This was followed by a summons for his possible arraignment in Abuja.

Orubebe in 2015 faced four counts of false declaration of assets, soliciting a bribe, and accepting a bribe. It was alleged that on two occasions, Orubebe provided fabricated records of his financial assets to the authorities.

A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Jabi, Abuja, in 2021 ordered the remand of Ngozi Olejeme, former Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), in the detention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N3 billion fraud.

Justice Maryam Hassan Aliyu gave the order after Olejeme was arraigned on nine counts in which she was accused of abusing her office, receiving bribes, awarding contracts without due process, among others.

Anambra:What Has Quality  To Do With Soludo’ s Made -In -Anambra Brands- Anatune

Well, everything! Obviouslybrands have become veritable tools for economic dominance and diplomacy among nations. According to Cee Cee Soludo, Anambra will seek to be part of world trade beginning from Africa with brands fit for the world. He implies that with the formalisation of the state’s hugely informal sector, Anambra will move away from selling undifferentiated commodities or ‘me-too’ brands to marketing winning brands in different categories. Quality that excites and delights consumers is the anvil for this Economic Transformation agenda of the Governor- Elect

Without delving much into the arcane territory of brand building, brands can be briefly explained as products with good functional and emotional features which consumers buy and use over and over again. Repeat purchase is central in making a brand stick. In the market place, a good brand speaks with one voice by not attempting to be everything to everybody. So leading brands differentiate their value proposition and segment their markets. The soul, personality and tone of voice peculiar to the Anambra brands based on their essence or DNA need to be well thought through and implemented from the beginning.

The functional features of a brand is the building block of successful brands. They do not just happen. They go through the intricate processes of quality formulations, standardisation and assurance. While help can be gotten from federal regulators such as SON, NAFDAC etc, the made- in – Anambra brands must take some higher steps to partake in the highly saturated global market with rapidly emerging global consumers whose tastes and preferences know no bounds.

Robust quality infrastructure and policy frameworks are key in making the Anambra brands stand out in the battle for the hearts of the global consumers whose tastes change in split seconds. The state government together with the private sector will, in view of the paucity of quality infrastructure, take actions to implement standardisation, accreditation and conformity assessment services; these include inspection, testing, metrology, laboratory, market surveillance, technical regulations and product certification that support the aspiration of the state in having brands that will delight the global consumers.

The pursuit of the foregoing admittedly will not be a tea party, but with a resourceful private sector and a strong political backing by the Governor- Elect who will be the Chief Marketing Officer, Anambra will partake noticeably in the lucrative global market.

It is ennobling that the Transition Team is working out the finer details of implementation mechanism and that the world is waiting to happily invest more in Anambra. Isn’t it exiharating?

Be of good cheer!!

Wike in Court Over Foreign Company that Defrauded River State Govt.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is at a State High Court in Port Harcourt for a second consecutive day to personally observe the prosecution of a foreign company, Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited, it parent organization, Saipem SPA, and its management over alleged fraud against the state government, IgbereTV reports.

The Rivers State Government said the failure of the company to execute the project led to the abandonment of a gas turbine generator unit in Holland since 2012 which the state is paying so much on demurrage.

Asari Dokubo: IPOB Is Worse Than A Terrorist Organisation

Mujahid Asari Dokubo, leader of the Biafra Customary Government, has said the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is worse than a terrorist organisation.

He said this during a Facebook live session on Sunday.

Commenting on the Sit-At-Home order of the outlawed IPOB, he said people obey the order so as to avoid being killed.

Dokubo accused Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, of wreaking havoc in the region.

“IPOB said Igbo people should not go about their business; they should not go to school. So, if we Igbos no longer go about our business and go to school, what else should we be doing? That’s why all the boys are going into fraud.”

“IPOB is worse than a terrorist organisation. It is a satanic movement. They tell them to eat the flesh of human beings, and they eat it. If people sit at home, it is that they are afraid of you people. It is not because you people are powerful. They don’t know you people are nothing.

“People are afraid of being killed that’s why they’ve continued to sit at home, not because they love Nnamdi Kanu. Why is there no sit-at-home in Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo? It is because the government of these places are saying ‘don’t ever come here’.

“Very soon, Igbos will come out and say ‘it is okay; our old women are starving; they can’t go to the farm, markets’. At Onitsha market, people are afraid of doing businesses because they are scared of being killed.”

Real Story of a First Graduate that Tried to Use his Mother for Ritual

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, the story of a young man who had allegedly attempted to “kill” the mother for rituals, at the Heros Apartment, Owerri, had gone viral, with the photographs of the young man and the mother flying all over the Internet.

However, the initial storyline of rituals isn’t adding up and a report by Famousblog reveals that the  young man is from a rich family and is about to travel to Canada fully sponsored by his sisters.

In the initial story, none carried the name of the young man and the name of the mother. Which means, there was a serious lacuna. Something was missing.

The whole story was approached from the angle of “attempted ritual killing”, because, nothing in the contrary, was on the table.

One could see the room in tatters. You could clearly see the struggles. Nothing was standing or was in its normal position, in the room, including the television on the wall.

The whole family members we met, all agreed that it was a Spiritual issue, and they had noticed strange action from the young man few days before the Sunday, the ugly incident happened, especially when he left the family whatsapp platform and could not give any reason for that, when he was asked why he left.

But nobody took that serious. The family members agreed that one of them, Mrs. Amonu Chibuzo, who described Jaachukwu Mbachu as her little brother inlaw, should speak to the reporters.

Before she spoke to us, we had seen flower pot inside the room, and not kitchen pot for “rituals”, as claimed in some of the stories. We saw the broken bottle and not knife. We also saw his red beret, which was taken as red clothe in the initial stories. We took the needed photographs, of all we saw.

Her story…

“When we read about the incident, we all got surprised. Nobody believed the story because we all know Jaachukwu and he could not have changed over-night, to begin to think about using the mother for rituals and for any reason. He has comfort at his disposal. We never believed the story.

“We began to link the incident with the strange action of exiting the family whatsapp platform and could not know why he did that or give any reason for doing that. We began to add things up. We arrived at the issue of spiritual something. We concluded that the whole incident was a spiritual issue.

Jaachukwu had had a good chat with the mother, Mr. Edith Mbachu, on Saturday, January 22, 2022. In the course of that chat, he told her that he was hungry. The mother then told him that she would bring food and fruits for him on Sunday, January 23.

He had gone to lodge at Heros Apartment when he came back from Abuja. The mother came on that Sunday, and he warmly welcomed the mother. The mother brought out the food (rice), and the fruits, including a bottle of groundnuts. He thanked the mother and they began to chat and cracking jokes.

“But all of a sudden, his eyes turned. His voice changed. His countenance changed. He began to bark. The mother was frightened and was trying to calm him down. He took the groundnuts’ bottle and broke it on his head. And began to stab himself. And he also began to stab the mother. He would stab himself once and also stabbed the mother once. That happened upto eight times.

“Before he broke the bottle, he locked the door and put the key into his pocket. The mother started shouting and the shouting attracted other lodgers and the Security Personnel at the Apartment. When he heard the bangs on the door, he opened the window and pushed the mother out and also fell down from the same window. And became calm.
